Design My Yard

We love our new landscaping. Liz transformed our boring backyard into a completely new experience and added some finishing touches to the front to make the outside of our home so much more enjoyable. The process was painless as Liz provided detailed plans, kept us informed of the next steps, and completed the entire project ahead of schedule and on budget. Her subs were professional, friendly, and did quality work. We couldn't be happier and highly recommend Design My Yard.

We could not be happier with the design Liz created for our back yard. She took our ideas and greatly improved upon each wish and need. We now have the outdoor living space we always dreamed of. We went from keeping our curtains closed, not wanting to look at our unloved and unused space, to enjoying each view out our windows and spending time in our outdoor space every single day. Our back yard is on the small side. It was a boring rectangle, long and skinny. We had a small wood deck that cut off the space, leaving one side of no interest or use. We installed sod twice, with no luck as we have complete shade on one side and intense sun on the other. We completely gave up on the space, allowing anything to sprout in our planters. Our yard was mostly dirt – which our dogs brought into the house each day. Not only was our back yard an eyesore, but it involved constant cleaning of our floor from dirt or muddy paw prints. After Design my Yard did their magic, our back yard seems so much larger. We have actual living spaces that serve different uses for entertainment or our interests (e.g. bird watching, growing herbs), each beautiful to look at and spend time in. We are no longer embarrassed by or hiding our outdoor space. We enjoy it individually, together and with our family and friends. This is one of the best decisions we ever made for improving our home. It has truly expanded our living space. Outside of the amazing design, Liz was the contractor and her team is stellar. Their expertise and work ethic cannot be beat. They are fantastic tradespeople and they are artists. We recommend Liz and her team 110%.

I can't speak highly enough of the entire Design My Yard team. The entire process from start to finish was the best part of our home remodel. Liz listens well and then put together something we couldn't have dreamed up. All for a reasonable cost. Just know you are dealing with good people from start to finish. That means everything these days.

Liz did a special project for us in Upstate NY as we had a huge issue with a garden on a hill that would drain into our pool every time it rained. She worked with us to go to the Champlain Stone quarries and used natural stone to shore up the issue while greatly improving the beauty of our pools and gardens. She also designed the landscaping to be pretty maintenance free which is amazing!
