Magnolia Flats Apartments

No make ready upon move in. Work orders still not serviced. Took them 3+ weeks to unclog drain. None of the windows are sealed. Sounds like my neighbors below me are in the next room over(no insulation). Parking is pretty much non existent unless you pay for it. During my first 4 months 3 "managers" have been through and twice they removed me from the unit transfer list. This place is definition of the slums.

I moved to Magnolia Flats in February 2020 . I had no complaints the apartments are spacious they need a little work being as old as the apartments are that’s understandable. management has changed three times since I have lived there the first two managements were OK any problems I had they came that day took a look them for the most part got things fixed and if not they came back the next day and got it fixed. New management took over I want to say in June I was really hoping that they were going to turn the place around they’ve had great ideas and talked a good game but so far I have seen nothing but making the place look nice on the outside.The most infuriating problem that I’m having now is that my air-conditioning has been out for a little over two weeks they sent somebody to come fix it and for one day it worked . The next day it stopped working I called the office they brought me a standalone unit which worked very little because I have a two bedroom apartment it is very large so it basically didn’t do much at all but it was better than nothing, then I had a gentleman show up at my door claiming to be part of the old management team and wanted the standalone AC unit back so I gave it back to him and proceeded to call the new management and let them know that I no longer had a unit in my home a while later one of the new managers brought a standalone unit to the apartment I set it up after about 30 minutes I realized it did not blow cold air at all I tried everything to fix it and I have used these before so I know how they work to no avail it did not work I went into The portal and left a maintenance request stating that the standalone air-conditioning unit did not blow cold air I never heard back from anyone I made a second maintenance request stating the same thing never heard anything back so finally I called the emergency number and gave my information and told them that the standalone unit was not Blowing cold air I spoke with a lady gave her all of them my information my name my number my unit and was told that She me have somebody get back to me That was at 6 o’clock yesterday I still have not heard from anyone and for the second night I am staying in a hotel because it is too hot for me my child and my dog to be in an apartment With no AC my apartment gets to 98° in the middle of the day and in the evening maybe gets down to 85 .So I definitely had hope that these two new gentleman we’re going to get air-conditioning units fixed or replaced for all of the people in the apartment complex so far that has not worked out for me and I am about at my wits end because I cannot afford a standalone unit and I’m paying rent to live in an apartment that I can’t stand to be in so be cautious when you think about renting these apartments . Up until this air-conditioning fiasco I consider the apartments pretty decent you see bugs here there because they have not been spraying like they should or the old management didn’t the apartments used to be pretty clean people are starting to get a little messy it does have a beautiful view beautiful trees nice pool it’s quiet for the most part but the lack of getting to maintenance issues it’s just unacceptable especially when you live in San Antonio Texas in July with no air condition . when you have had to put in a maintenance request not once not twice not three times but four times and nobody has gotten back to you and I can’t stress enough it is too hot to live in that apartment without central air or at least more than one standalone unit I have a large two bedroom apartment. And I feel like I’ve been very patient I haven’t been pushy I haven’t gone into the office I have left is the portal like I’ve been asked to I’ve left messages and basically I’m getting ignored so like I said before you think about signing a lease here make sure that you have a brand new air conditioner so that you don’t end up in my situation paying money to stay in a hotel !
