I went to Utah Auto Gallery today (Saturday 12/28/2013). You (the owner--who reads all these posts) may remember my husband and I. My husband is a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. I have never had a worse car experience in my entire life. In fact, it was so bad I felt like I had to get online and write a review (and in the very same day!). Maybe if I had done a little more homework ahead of time, I would have seen this dealership had poor reviews, and I wouldn't have even wasted my time going here. My husband and I wanted to buy another vehicle. Something that was larger than our current cars. We made a list of 5 different cars, located at different dealerships, that we wanted to go and look at. My husband called all 5 dealerships to make sure the cars were still available. About an hour and a half after we called on a specific car at Utah Auto Gallery, we showed up to look at it. We arrived, walked straight into their "showroom floor" and asked to see this specific car mentioning that we had called earlier about it. Without ever introducing himself, he took us out to the car and opened it up. He talked for about one minute, and said 3 facts about the car. When he went silent, my husband asked if we could test drive the car. We were flatly told "no." My husband was a little shocked, and thought the man was joking. Oh, he wasn't. He told us, unless we were very interested in buying the car, that we could not test drive it. My husband told him, we were very interested in buying it--but we had several cars that we were looking at today, and he was not going to buy a car without test driving it first. The man, then folded his arms, leaned back on the car, and said "well when you are interested in buying this car you can come back and test drive it." Now we are not talking about a sports car here, or even a new car. This was an older Nissan Pathfinder, and we wanted to take it for a 5 minute ride to see how it ran (and we were fine with him coming with us!). Needless to say, we turned around and walked right out of there. For the rest of the day, it was the running joke at each dealership we went to--if we were going to be able to actually drive the car that we were interested in buying. We ended up going to another small dealership (in Davis County) later the same day, and bought a car with the CASH we had IN HAND. Funny thing was, we were telling the car dealer that we ended up buying an SUV from about this dealership, and our car salesmen actually knew this guy at Utah Auto Gallery. He said that he is actually a really nice guy, but can be a little "brash or rough." I am not sure if that is how I would describe him. I am not sure how you can treat people who are serious about buying a car the way he did, and still stay in business. But I am guessing that is why he only has like 10 cars on his lot, and it was completely void of people except his receptionist and himself. If he can treat a military service man (he has served for 12 years, and been on 4 deployments by the way!), and a public high school English teacher the way he did--I can't imagine how he treats some other people. Although we went to several other small dealerships today (I do not liking buying from the large dealerships--I believe in buying from the family owned places) I was treated with respect and dignity at everyone's business but this one. I am extremely disappointed in the service and lack of respect that we received. I highly suggest going to another dealership, there are a lot of other really great little ones in the Salt Lake Valley.

These guys were friendly, helpful, and willing to let me test drive their car (That quickly changed - see my update). However, we saw an ad online for one of their cars and they refused to honor the price. It was on KSL and their WEBSITE for $500 less. It seems like they changed it while we were test driving their car. I emailed them and attached a screen shot of the price on their website. They promptly took it down and refused to honor it. It was a $9500 car...but a $500 difference is enough to make up for tax and title! I informed him I was approved and would still be interested in the car for the price we saw, but he didn't relent. Didn't feel comfortable with the purchase after this and will be going elsewhere. Update: I just got a call from the Finance Manager confronting me on my review. He tried to offer me the original price but they wouldn't give me their 90-day guarantee that they supposedly give on all their cars. I told him I rated him low because of the bait and switch price. He said they weren't obligated to give me the price because it was a "typo". I then told him I wasn't obligated to by his car. Mind you, I had already purchased another vehicle, which I told him. He then proceeded to call me an A**hole because the car I was looking at had sold (yet he felt the need to call me) and then proceeded to tell me to F*** off. People...do yourself a favor and don't go to this dealer. I went over to Henry Clay motors in Sandy and was treated with respect. I got a car that was 2 years newer with the same miles for almost the same price. Edit 2: Take a look at the Owner's response. What a joke of a company. I'll gladly recommend a legitimate dealership for people to go to, which would not be these guys. You remembered my name enough to call and tell me to F*** off huh? Sounds like you're the lying loser. It's pathetic that you try and blame other dealerships for your own short comings. If there is any question to the authenticity of my claim please email me and I'll tell you my experience.

I had the same experience. When called they said they would give me the car for a specific price out the door. But once I arrived, they decided that they "accidentally" forgot a few extra things and increased the price. Kept going back on word, which was extremely frustrating considering that I was in a rush to buy the car. The salesman, whom I am assuming was also the owner was EXTREMELY rude. Seemed like he just wanted to get in a fight about everything. Than when we came to pick up the car the following Monday to take it to a mechanic, they refused to let me drive it. I agree, FISHY. Than the whole time we were there, they seemed like they were nervous with them checking it out. After the mechanic took it for a test drive they freaked out. Screaming and yelling in front of other customers. Definitely not professional. I would never recommend them to anyone. Stay as far away from them as possible. The cars are deeply discounted, but when they say that the car was looked at by their mechanic, they're lying out their ears. STAY AWAY, HORRIBLE SERVICE!! WORSE PEOPLE
