I have not had anything but positive things to say about this place. I went in for a check up and cleaning and was treated very well. I was treated like a patient and not just a number. As a healthcare professional myself, I was happy with how things were operated. Dr. Ma informed me of the work I needed done and corrected what another dentist had done wrong.

I have always had "bad" teeth that need a lot of work and TLC. Blue Hills was literally the best Dental office I have ever experienced (and I have been to 10 plus). From the front office (Olga, you are amazing) to the dentist (Dr. Michael you are one of the funniest, down to earth people) and the Dental Assistant (Jessica, you make every effort to understand the issue and do whatever you can to make people more comfortable and not focus on the pain). I really feel the need to make it clear that this dentist office is amazing. I walked in there in an immense amount of pain (a 10 out of 10) and within 10 minutes, I was numbed so that I would not have to suffer through pain while waiting for everything to get setup. In addition, Dr. Michael performed a root canal that most dentists wouldn't have the confidence or competency to perform. He performed it fast and effectively! He even had another Dentist check the work...I really cannot say enough great things about this place. :)

I do not normally leave reviews, let alone negative ones. I feel it is important for any new potential customer to hear this. I received a mailer for a cleaning, check up and xray for new customers. I made an appointment. I went in 15 minutes early, filled out my forms, handed them in promptly. It is important to note that my appointment was for 11:00. I had the proper forms filled out and handed by that time. I was not seen until 11:20. It was a minor inconvienence, and I would not have made an issue of it if that were the only problem. The technician who saw me for x rays was very nice. A dentist from Venezuela with a great attitude and an awesome personality! I never got his name. When I saw the dentist, he informed me that I had 15 cavaties(!), and I would also need a root canal. It was a shock, but I was prepared to deal with the work that needed to be done. The cleaning that he provided after his consultation was sub par at best, and his dental exam was not thorough at all. I will soon elaborate on how I know this. The office manager came in to talk about my options for dental work, inform me of what my insurance would cover, and my options for payment (including an in house financing option). All of this seemed professional on the surface, but there were some red flags in The way they spoke, and how they presented the information. I have studied sales and psychology for the past ten years. The that both the dentist, and the office manager were phrasing their speech, made me feel like I was being pressured to purchase services that I may not necessarily need. There were two specific points during this consultation that confirmed for me, that I was being pressured. I decided to get a second opinion. I went to an old dentist of mine. He had performed work on me years prior, and had my trust. He looked over the x rays, and performed a thorough examination. He found that I had some decalsification(sp?) that had not yet made with through my enamel on quite a few teeth. He informed me, that with dillegent work (brushing twice a day with a prescription floruide toothpaste, and flossing twice a day) I could repair the de calcification. In the end, he found 3 cavities that he recommended filling. upon closer inspection of the tooth that the dentist at blue hills recommended a root canal on, he found that the stay was misleading, and the cavity was on the side of my tooth, and not under the filling. Once again saving me hundreds of dollars, as well as the pain of a periodantal operation. In the end, I feel like the staff at west valley blue hills dental were hasty in their diagnosis. They were unprofessional in that they were quick to misdiagnose a major issue. The experience I am left with is that they wanted to make money off of me, so they attempted to manipulate me into purchasing services on the spot that I did not need. A complete lack of professional integrity, with business practices that are borderline extortion! Shame on the staff, and doctors at blue hills dental! In the course of an hour, they shattered my trust in their entire company. I have a son that is 4 years old that we took to another location before this incident, they told us that he need 7 fillings, and based on the experience I had myself, I will be cancelling the appointment that they had for dental work with him, and seeking a second opinion from another dentist. This is my warning: do not trust these technicians if after examining you, you have an unusually high amount of work recommended. I cannot, in good conscience recommend that anyone go to this clinic for exam, cleaning, or Any dental work.
