This is a review I wish I didn't have to write. A few years ago we had Aikey do our upstairs windows and it was the best contractor experience I ever had. The employee-based crew was fantastic, the job was quality and the clean up was great. We decided to do our downstairs windows and called them back. Of course the price had gone up significantly (and it was a big, expensive job) but we understood that and had no questions after our prior experience. This was not the same. - The windows took a long time because of supply chain issues. Again we understood that. - The crew came and they were an independent window crew. The one who spoke English said they worked for everyone...Champion, Window Word. So much for paying a premium for Aikey. - They ordered the wrong window for the kitchen and were seconds away from installing it when my wife noticed it. It took several weeks to get the replacement in even though it was on a rush order. - When they installed the windows they left with the just the windows in...they were just there with the insulation exposed and no support wood in between the windows and no trim. It was like that for two weeks till they could come back and fix it. - They had to do outside work and the nail holes were exposed in the trim. It was no up to their prior standard of quality. They also nailed the vinyl siding to the house in one place. - Each time they came they left items around the house...paint cans, brushes, plastic trim. - They came back to put the window wood and trim in and didn't sand it. It was very rough and had saw marks in it. I had to sand it before painting it. Some of the edges were pretty sharp. - When they came back to install the kitchen window they took the old trim off and put it back on afterward. It was so beat up I had to sand it for 3 hours before I could paint it. Then we noticed that the screen in the kitchen was dented and torn. - They said they would give me a new screen. This was in December. I have texted them several times asking about it and they have ghosted me. They sent a few texts saying "still waiting" or "i'm told it will be in next week" but I've given up trying. I really liked this company and wanted to do more business with them. The guy is very personable too and seems like a good family man. Sorry to write this review but I kept thinking "is this how they would do it if it were their house" and I don't think they would. I also don't think ghosting someone is very professional. It is not the same since Kirk is only the name on the sign. By the way, we love the windows and the picture window they recommended was a great idea. I just hope I never need warranty work done.
