Long & Foster Moneta, VA

We love Smith Mountain Lake! A big part of our great experience had to do with the staff from Long and Foster. They run a tight ship over there. They offered us additional assistance in their recommendations for a boat rental, linen service, whatever we needed really...and our rental was absolutely beautiful! I felt confident that if I ran into any issues with check-in, or our stay, Debbie would be available as she already had been multiple times leading into our vacation. Looking back on another review, about how someone said a property was double booked.... I think I know what might have happened there. I'm so sorry they missed out on their vacation; that must be frustrating. When we booked our vacation, we made 2 payments (I believe one was 1 month prior to check in). We also had to fill out a rental agreement when we initially booked. Debbie was thorough in walking us through the process, and I did get a reminder email on the second payment. We felt well supported and truly enjoyed our stay. Check-in and check-out was a cinch! I highly recommend Long & Foster, and can't wait to go back!

We rented a house through VRBO at Smith Mountain Lake and Long & Foster was the management company. One month prior to our vacation, they simply cancelled our reservation saying the property had been double booked. At that point all other homes had been rented. Make sure to have a contingency plan if you rent with this company.

I had a signed contract and agreement with the seller on a home and long & foster was still scheduling showings behind my back leading to a higher offer.That was rude on there part.
