They have been charging my wife monthly for the last five years for life insurance on our daughter. Today they tell her our daughter was only a rider while she was employed with her previous company. But, they've billed her every month for five years. Fraud? We are about to find out. Unum, say hello to lawsuit

This company tries to do everything they can to NOT pay out short term Disability. I am shocked UVA is using them as an insurance carrier!

This company needs to be investigated for fraud. my wife file a claim with them for a injury that occurred back in January, its now April and still no check. They take money out of your paycheck every two weeks, but when you need them, there not there. DO NOT! sign up for sort term disability with this company if they offer it at your place of work!

I supposedly had long term disability insurance through my employer with UNUM. I had money taken out of my paychecks for years to ensure that I would receive 60% of my base salary until I reached age 65. Unfortunately, I became permanently disabled. UNUM paid my benefits for 2 years while I applied and was granted social security disability, then they took back every cent that they had given me. When I inquired about this with my ex-employer, I was laughed at and told "It wasn't supposed to last forever."
