Tharp's Roofing

Had to search out his brother to finish my roof 8 years ago because he wouldn’t answer my phone calls. Now the roof is leaking. He said he would come by Tuesday. He’s a no show again. I advise you to use anyone else.

Several years ago I had dealings with this company. They came one day and started the job the next. There was a problem with the sky light and they said they would order a new one and come back. Job done, payment given and that was that. I had called repeatedly and always the mail box was full or Was told the sky light was on back order for many many months. Finally I ordered one on line, and called to have them put it in. Then the unanswered phone calls, or was told he would come by NEXT WEEK. I FINALLY called someone else to come and install. Result I felt that they just should have said they either did not want to do it, or they did not have time. A customer is a customer and months of promises and untruths is no way to do business. I know a lot of time has gone by, and many people in the neighborhood asked who did my roof and the only thing I could say was "Don't hire Tharp"

I don't have much experience with such things. I care only about 1 thing- providing good conditions for my daughter. She is 7 months old and people, hammering and tossing in the back yard, aren't helping. For my relief these guys were quite careful with the noise levels.

George Tharp took my $4250 deposit to put a new metal roof on my house, and he promised me to get to me in two or three weeks. The two to three weeks went by, with no call or workers, then a month, and now two months. I've called and left numerous messages which were not returned. The only time I managed to get hold of him was either speaking to his family by calling his home and he would be put on the phone or he called back once, and once I called on a friend's cell phone and he picked right up, after not answered any of my calls. When I managed to get hold of him he told me I was next in line and he had my roofing material, but every time he told me he would come, he never showed up and he never called or answered my calls either. The last time I managed to get hold of him, by getting hold of his wife late one evening and him calling me the next morning, he told me he would refund my money if I wanted, because he wouldn't get to me for another two weeks. REALLY, so I guess he was CONSTANTLY LYING every time he had previously promised to come and do the roof. This by the way is a leaking roof. Needless to say I told him I DID want my money back and this week he told me he would refund my money and meet me with a cashier's check. He was going to call and tell me a time, but of course that was just another lie — He did not call, and he is not answering his phones. As if all that were not bad enough, he actually showed me a house near to mine and told me he did the roof as a sample of his work. After all this trouble, I recently stopped by and asked the owner if he had done their roof, and they had NEVER HEARD OF HIM... another roofing company did it. So he completely lied about that as well. This is not mere incompetence it is outright fraud, if he had mugged me in the street and stole my money I could at least have him arrested, but now I am obligated to spend time and go through the stress of trying to get my money back, while finding more money to pay another roofer, and this scum just carries right on living and working. People like this make me sick, I work hard to support my handicapped husband and elderly mother, life is hard enough without losers like this.
