The therapists and doctors do a good job. If you need to cancel or book an appointment, they rarely answer the phone and are not good about checking their messages. Best to do it in person if you can.

We had a wonderful experience. Developing minds has a caring environment, professional counselors, very communicative partnerships with parents in dealing with complicated, sensitive children.

Horribly managed office. I urge you to pursue any other option available before scheduling here. Try Mill Creek Family Services, Envision Counseling, or really anywhere else in the area. Unfortunately we have been using Developing Mind’s services for years and have experienced countless issues with their incompetent billing department, scheduling mixups, lost patient paperwork, and policies that heavily penalize patients. They routinely violate HIPAA Privacy Rules by openly and loudly discussing sensitive patient details in their public waiting area. It’s lazy and a violation of HIPAA. They misplace or simply lose sensitive patient paperwork then conveniently blame those very patients for their own mismanagement. They will repeatedly make billing mistakes. You MUST carefully audit your account. They will incorrectly bill your insurance under providers you don’t even see. If that’s not insurance fraud I’m not sure what is. I once received a sizable refund after pursuing their bogus billing practices. It took months. It often takes days/weeks before they return your multiple forms of communication regarding the many billing inquiries. Their email auto response states the obvious “this email box is not monitored”. Perfect. Good luck trying to cancel or reschedule. Who has time for this?! Not me. The only reason we continue to deal with them is the relationships with therapists. Be prepared as there tends to be high turnover, hence the disastrous customer service. You may suddenly be reassigned to someone new without any information as to where your person went. Read other reviews and you will see similar feedback. You’ve been warned.
