This was shady from start to end. I booked aeration and seeding. Booking was easy (sounded like call center in India) but the contractor contacted me day of saying that I needed to pay him via Venmo because the lawn love app wasn’t working. Stated that the seeding was just going to be an oil that he applied. Showed up with a hand aerator and the clumps weren’t even coming out of one side of it the entire time. He said he seeded but I didn’t see it happen. He was at the property for about 30 mins total. Then hassled me a bit about the price.

My experience with this company has been fantastic! It is easy to schedule service on their website or through the Thumbtack app, which is what I used. My Lawn Pro Luis and his partner showed up on schedule and did exactly what I asked to be done and left everything VERY neat and tidy! They were very friendly and waved back at me and my 2 year old granddaughter as we waved from our window. I will be using them bi-weekly as well as for other lawn care maintenance needs. Lawn Love is NOT a lawn care service, they are a service that connects customers with lawn care service providers. They are essentially a Thumbtack that acts as more pro-active middle man and only offers lawn service. No one who works at Lawn Love will be the ones who mow your lawn, they only do customer service. They are a similar service to Lawnstarter (which I have found more consistent in actually finding a service provider, but ultimately also a middle man service). A few flags, especially for those needing service in a timely manner: - Lawn Love will advertise availability in your area even if they do not have active contracts/relationships/availability with lawn services in your area. - Lawn Love will allow you to book appointments and confirm those appointments even if they don't have a lawn pro that can actually service your lawn on that date. What then happens is you will get a confirmation for the date you choose, but then a follow up rescheduling your appointment. This will happen over and over and over. I attached a few screenshots of one of my attempts to use their service where I got rescheduled every few days for a week until I just gave up and cancelled and found someone to service our lawn the next day in a matter of hours, perhaps I should offer Lawn Love some tips... I have experience attempting to schedule with Lawn Love through their app/website, I've also noticed Lawn Love popping up on sites like Thumbtack which I find misleading as that is the equivalent (in my opinion) Thumbtack making an account on Thumbtack and then promoting Thumbtack services amongst actual business owners... When you use Lawn Love, you are communicating with a scheduling service/middle man AND that scheduling service/middle man is taking a cut of the lawn pro's profits, so take that into consideration when you're comparing rates. I'm all for crowdsourcing and I love services with business models that make my life easier (who teaches you how to pick/hire a good lawn pro... where is that college course?) but this service does not work. My assumption? Greedy margins, treating lawn pros like a commodity, they probably cant get anyone of high quality to work for them. Too much of a disconnect between start up bros (I basically am one) and the people required to execute on this business. Sometimes launching the Uber of ___________ just doesn't work. I wanted to hire Lawn Love. In fact, I made every effort to. Their sales team responded super quickly, which was nice. They have a website that lets you manage your services online. Also nice. Here's what gets them 1 star: My initial date for service was April 5. They rescheduled to April 7. Ok, fine. No reason given other than that they didn't have anyone available April 5, but it happens. And it wasn't a lawn emergency or anything. I just needed our grass cut. April 7 was rescheduled to April 10. I even got a message from the lawn care pro on April 10 telling me they were on the way. Awesome. Except they never arrived. And then they marked my service as complete. And then I was charged. I reached out to Customer Support, because I figured they could help. The CS person was super nice and told me they'd give me a credit to cover the charge OR a comp for the next service. But...those two things are actually two different offers (a free service *or* a refund) and I shouldn't have been charged at all. So that was annoying. And I was a brand new customer, so that also felt bad. Anyway, they promised to make it right, and rescheduled my service for April 12. But on April 11, it was rescheduled again to April 19. A whole week later. And then it was rescheduled *again* to April 21. I emailed CS again and told them I give up. It should be pretty easy to just tell me someone is coming and have them show up and cut the grass. That's...kind of lawn care 101. But despite the quick response from sales and the empathy from CS, my grass is still not cut. And as a bonus, it's been growing for 2 extra weeks so I will probably have to pay a "long grass" charge to whoever I find who will actually cut it. 6 rescheduled visits in 2 weeks is so bad I'm almost impressed. I'm not sure they could be worse at this whole "showing up" bit if they tried. Don't use Lawn Love. Use literally anyone else, and save yourself the frustration and annoyance.
