Took my significant other here to at least discuss the possibility of alcohol dependence and underlying anxiety problems a few years back. Met with Heather Merrill who was late for the appointment. She then made us wait even longer as she did god only knows what. Her and my significant other then went into “session” which I put in quotations because is it really a session if the entirety of the allotted time is spent reviewing the simple and straightforward paperwork we had filled out upon arrival. No straight talk or getting to know the person that you could potentially be sharing deep, dark topics with. Afterwards, the significant other decided that this wasn’t going to be a good fit with Heather Merrill. We left and found out months later that not only had Heather not sent any billing our way, but she had sent us to collections for over $200! That’s more than most psychiatrists make who have doctorates (I think Heather Merrill has a masters which is fine but more than $200 for an hour “session” Come on). And bear in mind, $200ish for just reviewing some paperwork that could have been done later or by someone else. Words cannot convey how much I do not recommend Heather Merrill. Try literally anyone else, perhaps a magic 8 ball would be a better option; a whole lot cheaper for one thing, won’t review any paperwork during the session, and will give you a straightforward answer in a timely manner. Also, this isn’t the only bad review of Heather Merrill. I encourage you to check out the rest. Best of luck in your quest to find the help you need. I hope you find the peace, closure, and/or answers you seek. I can guarantee you one thing however, Heather Merrill can offer none of these things to you.

I have had the pleasure of both working with Heather Merrill as a coworker and later as a community partner. She is always professional, compassionate, knowledgeable, and meets people where they are at. She is respectful and responsive to the needs of individuals she is working with. She seeks to listen to understand and has a wealth of tools to support people through their change process. She connects authentically with individuals. She always is seeking new trainings and new tools to continue to enhance her skill set to always be improving service delivery. She is a person I still continually refer people to for counseling because I trust her work and her professionalism to support those in my personal life and those in my professional life.
