Comfort Inn & Suites Liverpool - Syracuse

Bedbugs might have been better... My father suffered a head injury and got life-flighted to the Syracuse Hospital last weekend. My son was already enroute from Denver to visit his grandparents and watch the eclipse when he got life-flighted, both arrived about midnight. While they were both in-flight, I was able to make an on-line reservation for my son at the Comfort Inn, Liverpool and pre-pay for a room with my credit card and forward the receipt containing the Confirmation Number to my son and redirect him to the hospital ER. When my dad was transferred from ER to ICU about 3AM, my son went to the hotel only to be told that they had his reservation but had given his room to someone else and they had no rooms for him. He ended up sleeping (or trying to) in the front seat of his rental car in a Wegmans parking lot in 40F degree weather, turning the engine on periodically to stay warm. He was not mugged or robbed but was utterly exhausted. The manager later claimed that he arrived too late - even though on their confirmation there was no "check in by time" notice. They never called or emailed to see if he was on his way before double-selling his room. They didn't offer to refund the money - they shamelessly double-sold the room without even attempting to see if he was still coming. The manager admitted that they do not notify travelers of their secret window of check-in times nor do they plan to. When I demanded the money back, they said I could take it up with the online booking company. I asked the manager if I should report them to the Better Business Bureau and her response was "I doubt that they will do anything - you do what you feel you have to do sir." I feel a need to spread the word of our experience. It was particularly frustrating to get an email 2 days after asking How was your stay? The online booking company was much more responsive, refunding the reservation plus a $100 voucher and promising to report the Comfort Inn for non-compliance with their contract.

Clean room, comfortable beds and pillows, good toiletries. Water pressure a bit low. Good breakfast, sausage patties, waffle machine, assorted breads cereals etc. Eggs not great but not unexpected. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I had a good experience while at the hotel. Lucius was very polite, and put his best foot foward while helping us sign in.

Very please with the service, they made sure we had everything or needed anything.had several conversations with staff and was pleasant.and would definitely book again in near future. Walkability: Stores were close by with different stores to chose from Food & drinks: Variety of restaurants and close by
