Rodeway Inn Old Town Scottsdale

DO NOT BOOK HERE! Location looked sketchy but I was still willing to give them a chance. I went inside to get keys and complete registration when the owner asked if I had any pets, I said yes. I was traveling with one small chihuahua. He advised me that no pets were allowed but the Priceline ad specifically listed them as a pet friendly hotel which is why I booked in the first place. He said to go back online and cancel. I showed him the listing that stated the location was pet friendly, he shook his head and said no. I contacted Priceline to get a refund and they told me they could not give me one until they spoke to the owner. They repeatedly attempted to contact the owner but of course he didnt answer. I had just spoken to him and could physically see him inside. I personally believe this is an ongoing scam the owner uses to steal peoples money. Like other reviews have stated, I highly advise against staying at this establishment. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Rodeway Inn! This is really a bad place, especially since we paid $125 for one night. It felt like a $60 or less a night kind of experience. The room had a number of issues. First we noted what looked like a bullet hole in the front window. The frame around the door had been badly patched, probably after the door had been kicked in. Such signs of violence were deeply troubling. Then I promptly stepped in a puddle upon walking into the bathroom...the toilet was leaking at the base and probably had been for a long time. I immediately informed the desk guy of the problems and he said he would send someone to clean the bathroom floor. We waited for awhile and finally my husband had to go find him again and ask for another room. He obliged and at least this room didn't have any problems we couldn't live with for one night. Though I was really concerned for my safety after seeing the other room. Thankfully we didn't have any problems overnight. As others have stated, the beds have no blankets, only sheets. I had to take out my own blanket I'd used on a camping trip to stay warm through the night. I've stayed in a lot of cheap and bad places but this place moved to the top of the list in places I would never go back to.

The front desk clerk was very professional and even waived my deposit. This place is way worth it if you want any type of peace. Beds are amazing. Just wish they would put more then a paper thing blanket on top of bed.

The room was mediocre at best and slightly dirty. They charged a $100 deposit that was never returned. I went there straight from an extended hospital stay on my birthday and was there 17 hours and they never returned my deposit to me. Be very careful when booking this place just know you may never see your deposit back. He will say anything to keep your money for an highly over priced room. It's not worth it trust me. The room is worth maybe $65 a night.
