This is a late review. My husband and I stayed here in January this year, 2024, for his birthday. The room was nice that we stayed in, however after dinner we found out that the heater wasn't work in our room. We talked to the front desk attendant and they didn't really offer us a solution except to use our fire place in the room. Well the fire place didn't work well either, it would turn on and turn off, the whole night. It didn't turn off after 30 minutes or a hour, it was about every 5 to 10 minutes. Super annoying and we were cold that night, couldn't even find extra blankets in the room.

The Adero gives "hotel owned by a PE company" vibes. The staff was untrained, we received conflicting information, service was non-existent, the front desk was unprofessional bordering on unethical. While there's not a lot of nice hotels in the area, we're not sure this particular hotel is worth what it charges to stay. Pros: This is a close to the Mayo clinic. There's even a shuttle that runs btwn the Mayo and the hotel which THE HOTEL NEVER MENTIONED, so we didn't learn about it until after we rented a car. The grounds are nice. The rooms are modern and sizable. There are nice water refill stations on each floor which offers both still and sparkling. Cons: All rooms are listed as "mountain view" but only rooms on one side of the hotel have a mountain view. The rooms on the other side face the parking lot. The front desk is aggressive, patronizing, and untrained. As frequent travelers with titanium elite and lifetime platinum status, we know the program well. We arrived Tu-Th for a 2-night stay. At the time of check-in, the hotel showed availability for all suite classes, including junior suites. The on-the-moment upgrade is normally to junior suite if one is available. Instead, the hotel "upgraded" us to the exact same room we booked except with a mountain view. It was evident the front desk associate knew nothing about Bonvoy. When we mentioned our status, she told us to speak with her manager. It was evident her manager didn't know much about Bonvoy, as she loudly and aggressively told us it was a complicated program we clearly don't understand. Our front desk interaction got progressively worse -- after telling us they would upgrade us to another standard room with a better view because that was the best upgrade available, the front desk then told us there were suites available for upgrade but they were reserved for higher status Bonvoy members arriving later in the day (not how the program works). Then, the front desk told us that they receive a list from Marriott corporate of who to upgrade and we weren't on that list (not how the program works). Then, we were told that suites were available for an "upgrade" at a highly favorable rate should we want to pay additional for them (not how the program works). We were reprimanded for being "mean" to the front desk because we asked questions about the hotel's understanding of the Bonvoy program. In 25 years of Marriott loyalty I've never experienced such a combative and patronizing check-in experience. I don't think I should have to pay money to be gaslit, yelled at for being too stupid to understand Bonvoy, and then told I owe the hotel an apology. The entire experience makes me wonder if I want to remain as loyal to Marriott as I have been, since Marriott will unlikely do anything about this. The F&B program is mediocre and the service is VERY slow. Your servers will forget your order. They will take a long time to show up. Your food will arrive cold. The food prices are on par with places where the service is of normal speed and the food will arrive hot, so I suggest you spend your money wisely by going somewhere else to eat. The hotel enjoys applying extraneous junk fees. There is the resort fee, which is common so no issue there. Then there is the parking fee, which is completely unwarranted as there is no parking structure and no shortage of self-parking in the outdoor lot around the hotel. The hotel isn't really a member of the dark sky community like it advertises. Between lighting from the pool and around the hotel grounds, there was too much light pollution to see the stars. If you want to see the stars, drive up the hill to the parking lot of the Adero Canyon Trailhead. Excluding the front desk, the hotel staff, while friendly, needs more training. We received conflicting information (and sometimes NO information) about what was/wasn't included with our breakfast and about hotel amenities.

Attended a wedding at Adero a couple of weeks ago and it was absolutely beautiful! I have never been to a resort where all of the staff was so attentive and accommodating. Giles (front office manager) and Marissa (events/catering manager) worked so hard to make sure the wedding ran smoothly especially when the storm rolled in and everything had to be brought indoors. We stayed for a couple of days afterwards and it is such a beautiful location. I would recommend this resort to anyone.
