Beautiful historic grounds. However the rooms show neglect. A broken, filthy bathroom vent, and a broken power outlet in the same bathroom. Sad!

The friendliest, and very competent staff. Wonderful grounds, beautiful rooms, centrally located with the superb restaurant Cielos on the grounds. One year later I am changing my 5 star review. The rooms are very clean except the last 3 times that I have stayed there are a disturbing amount of cobwebs all over the ceilings. The hot tub was filthy at 4pm on March 28th. Also, corporate GREED? The FREE breakfast is now $16.99 plus tax then add tip! If they had to start charging should not have been more than $11.00 or $12.00 for Hotel Guests Blue Willow, Locale. Panera ,Ghinis Cafe and numerous other breakfast options all over. And less expensive. The delicious potatoes on the buffet have been replaced with fried cubed potatoes generic everywhere. The poor waitstaff now have half the customers because people are going elsewhere for breakfast (they don't like getting ripped off) so they don't earn the tips from what I could observe. I bet anything that they did not get a decent raise.

We just stayed here for one night on our mini-vacation to Tucson. I just loved it. They really made an effort to preserve the historical integrity with the furnishings, the architecture, and the overall feel of the place. It really is so charming! I also liked the location because it was so close to everything. Also, the Cielo Restaurant is excellent and we had dinner right away after we checked in. It was cold and rainy but there was a fireplace burning in the courtyard of the restaurant just to keep you warm. On top of that, the food was truly gourmet and very comforting for a cold, rainy night. I would highly recommend staying here and dining in their restaurant. Remember that it is an old, old hotel so it is not all chandeliers and marble flooring. However, you will appreciate how they have modernized it and kept the true essence of its past.
