Welcome to Aloft Tucson University, where trendy meets the travails of cleanliness and design quirks. Situated next to the bustling Tucson University, this hotel boasts a location teeming with activity perfect for those who thrive amidst the hustle and bustle of bars, restaurants, and pubs. However, be prepared to dance to the beat of constant traffic noise, as this hotel sits on one of the busiest streets in the area. Upon entering, youll notice Alofts attempt at chic decor, from its circular front desk to the pool tables in the lounge, catering to the younger, hipper crowd. But alas, while theyve nailed the aesthetic, the cleanliness game falls short. My room resembled a hurried makeover, complete with leftover toilet paper in the bowl, sink chrome begging for a wipe, and a hair pile reminiscent of a tumbleweed in the shower. Now, lets talk design blunders. The shades offer a binary choice: wide open for a voyeuristic experience or shut tight, shutting out every ray of sunlight. And dont get me started on the bathroom. With no shelves in sight, balancing toiletries becomes an art form, and forget about hanging towels the floor is your only option. While Aloft gets the job done, its a reminder that even the trendiest facade cant mask the need for a thorough clean and some thoughtful design tweaks. Heres to hoping for some overdue improvements in this slightly weathered gem.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service. I was in town for a family emergency and did not need the experience I had at this hotel. I booked two rooms, checked in, took my bag upstairs and went right back downstairs to the lobby to make a phone call. Nicole was so rude and came up to me in the lobby after she had seen me for an hour talking on the phone. She was apparently bothered I was in the lobby and asked to see my room key. I was thrown off because she checked me in an hour prior. I showed her my room key and reminded her she checked me in an hour ago. She ignored me as I was talking and walked away and said something under her breath and called me a b****. I walked up to her as she was walking away and asked her what she said. She then ignored me again. I went about my phone call and tried to brush it off. I was so baffled by this that I went to the desk and asked Nicole if she has a manager and she said no. I asked if there's a manager for the hotel again and she said no and asked me why and I said because I want to talk to a manager. I asked what the managers name and her name was and when she told me I said ok and then finished my phone call and left to my room since I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome at this point. My relative that was on the phone with me heard the whole thing and said that that was not okay and were shocked I was being treated this way for no reason. This was by far the rudest experience I have ever had. I went to bed even more upset. I emailed with Sarah the "manager" and she said she reviewed cameras but was unable to hear the words Nicole used and her demeanor so she easily dismissed me and said she will have a "talk with Nicole". This is so unacceptable and I am highly disappointed that this is the "hospitality" I paid for. Do not stay here. Worst customer service and management. I asked Sarah for corporate info and she ignored my request. Very unprofessional.
