    I would never recommend using The Shade Store you are paying for the name and Ive since learned there are so many other great options for window coverings out there and at a better price. We were at the tail end of our new build and worked with a sales person who no longer works there. We had most of our home done with our finished basement being phase 2 along with a few other windows we wanted to layer drapery on over shades. The sales person was terrible in every way and didnt advise properly on things like liners for the drapes. I have a set of slider drapes that the fabric has discolored. Big gaps between the windows and shade letting a ton of light in so much for the blackout. They did replace the wood blinds I have bc of warping and the new set is warping again. Its such a mess, way too much to list. We reached out and they said theyd give us 40% off a new order no thanks. I shouldnt have to pay again to replace something so new. They also botched up an installation patching my walls but not fully repairing and painting. I had a new sales person out to talk about finishing our home and he was fantastic as far as service and was appalled at the shotty work throughout. We tried to work with customer service but all they offered is a discount to buy more. And tonight my slider drapes fell down. Such a joke and a ripoff. Id look at Hunter Douglas or even Two Pages (which all the Designers are using) going forward. Stay away from The Shade Store!

    We recently purchased a home and needed window coverings for a sliding door in our master bedroom. There were a lot of moving parts to our bigger project--picking a paint color and carpet included. Julie helped us consider all the elements in play to pick the right fabrics and hardware. She was very patient and knowledgable. In addition to Julie's amazing service, the individuals that came to measure and install were also very professional. We love the end product and are sure we'll go to The Shade Store for future projects!

    What a horrible experience, they did not want to do business with us. Had to follow up on just getting an appointment to go in. Bad start. Once we did get there, we were told no we didn't have an appointment as soon as we walked in. The design process felt rushed and not helpful. Never got a quote or call back once you left. Weeks later I ordered from home depot. The customer service at home depot was way better, and that is saying something. All and all, I probably saved 3,000 dollars and got better customer service with home depot. I would tell everyone just go to home depot instead of giving any money to the shade store. Same products cheaper.

    UPDATED REVIEW: If we could give a zero star to The Shade Store we would. Tami Silks contacted us after our last review and assured us that our issue would be resolved. It is now the end of March and there has been ZERO follow up. Tami originally offered to refund our cost of a replacement motor order that we placed in December 2023, which we said wasnt necessary as we simply wanted to get our front window shade working correctly. Tami said she would make sure our issue was resolved and did issue a refund. We waitedand waitedand waitedand then we received yet another set of paper shades that didnt fit our window. We were told our shade motor would be delivered mid Feb; its now end of March and still no replacement or follow up from The Shade Store. We then received a motor that was a corded (plug in type), but it doesnt work with our shade. We had ordered a wireless type motor and had discussed this several time with MANY Shade Store reps. We finally have given up completely, as The Shade Store seems to be more about lip service and much less about actually resolving issues. Instead, we looked the model number up of our motor and found a distributor on the internet who sent us the correct motor we needed IMMEDIATELY; we had been told many time by TSS it was on back order. In addition, the cost of the motor was less than half of what TSS charges and it is the exact same motor they use! Tells us something about the business model of TSS. Our advice: Stay far away from The Shade Store and select another company who stands by their products and cares about their customers. The Shade Store only seems to be in the business of frustrating their customers and providing some of the worst customer service we have ever encountered. We will never do business with this company again and will continue to share our experiences with others in hopes that we might save someone the extreme frustration we have experienced with TSS for the past four months. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We have been having a horrible experience with The Shade Store trying to get a replacement motor for an auto roller shade. We have truly never had such bad customer service and couldnt understand why, but after checking reviews we now understand we are not alone in our bad experience. It seems it is a common occurrence for TSS. We purchased a new home the end of November, and the previous owner put in NEW auto shades prior to selling the home. Unfortunately, one shade wasnt working but we were told to just contact TSS and they would repair it. Instead, we have been told repeatedly that because we are not original owners, it causes issues with our system; among many other excuses why we are still waiting on a replacement motor after several weeks of emails, phone calls, and a personal visit to the Denver store a month ago in which we paid in full for a replacement motor and was told we would have it by early Jan. We were told today by the Denver store that its common for issues within the shade industry and its just the way the business is. Have no idea how they stay in business. We have to agree with another reviewer: The Shade Store charges Ritz Carlton prices but provides Motel 6 service, if that. We are going to look at other options as TSS obviously doesnt want to service their products, but instead sell you more that dont work.
