The car we got wa dirty and smelled like smoke so badly. I couldnt breath it was that bad do not rent from them. Terrible service.

I had the worst experience ever with Avis: unprofessional, rude, unfair and disgusting is the way to describe it: 1. I paid for unlimited etoll, double-checked if everything is activated before setting out. 2. At the toll both on the highway, I was asked to pay as the reader was not registering that I had tolls covered. 3. I called Avis on the road, asking to confirm if I am covered given that the system has not been registering an etoll, a person on the phone assured me that I have nothing to worry about and I am covered. 4. A week my credit card was charged with almost $150 in tolls charges 5. I called avis, asked to explain why I was charged. An incompetent rude person kept on asking me to hold while she is verifying which took 45 minutes !!!! And eventually she said she is happy to return the amount I paid for unlimited etolls - $38. I told her that no, I dont want $38 back, I want $150 back. To which she replied (again, after $45 mins) that she cannot do it and gave me a different phone number to call. 6. That phone number she gave me was only active between 9 and 5, what grown up with a job can spend an hour on the phone with these buffoons? Anyhow, I did spend another hour with those buffoons and their best solution was to make me write an email to them about my issue. 7. I ended up disputing the amount with my credit card provider, who took the charge off my statement. But the wasted time, anger, irritation and stress they caused me is there to stay. Shame on you Avis, way to go if you want to stay client less.

I was given a STOLEN VEHICLE and had to local police pull me over and detain me. AVIS did not help me at all, and Nothing has been resolved due to THEIR MISTAKE AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I'm still waiting to hear back from corporate to resolve this issue and nothing has happened. PLEASE DO NOT give them business or rent from them. Follow Update: Only person who followed up to this traumatic experience was the Stamford's Avis Location manager, Lercy. Lercy - thank you and I hope AVIS treats you with more respect than they do with their customers. Thank you for being kind towards me, Lercy! She followed up more than the actual corporate side of AVIS. I understand it was not the stores fault but the way AVIS dealt with me and did not treat me with any urgency shows their standards when it comes to customer care. Till this day they have not given me any resolution, therefore I will not be renting from them, and I advised you as well. Thank you

Exceptional Customer Service, I am not always easy to deal with but the Lercy, Garfield and Alexandria go way above and beyond to accommodate needs of there customers I cant thank them enough Thank You!!!
