Wonderful experience! We were traveling with our dog, and love Kimpton hotels for being pet friendly (and welcoming!). The staff at this hotel was incredibly welcoming and friendly, making our experience truly 5 stars. Kierra at the front desk guided us through all of the amenities available and ensured we had a wonderful experience. The hotel is spacious and beautifully kept, and rooms are comfortably furnished. Excellent location and valet parking made things super easy. We hope to return!

We stayed at the Kimpton Monaco hotel for a wedding. Everyone was great but especially Cecilie, Reina, and John. The hotel and restaurant service was great and the food delicious. Great location and rooms! We would come again in a heartbeat!
Food & drinks: The hotel restaurant was great for small parties or single meals.

I will not stay here again. The first floor rooms are in the basement, and some of them do not have windows. The room is very, very tiny. I have to turn sideways to walk between the foot of the bed and the wall (see image!). There is no phone in this room, nor a coffee maker. What a weird, musty cellar this is!
The hotel staff are pretty grumpy, but perhaps they're constantly dealing with guests who don't want to stay in the basement while in DC.
UPDATE: After one night in the basement room, the new manager on duty offered to move me to a new room on the 4th floor. She was lovely and helpful, and ended up putting me in a suite. It is gigantic with beautiful windows, massively high ceilings, and not the least bit musty. There is a phone and a coffee maker. My conclusion is that this enormous hotel provides guests with vastly different experiences depending on the room they're assigned. If you choose to stay here, I would recommend explicitly stating that you do not want a 1st floor room when booking.
Rooms: Small, dingy, 1st floor is the basement - some lack windows. Poor wifi signal, constantly goes in and out.
