Its 4 am and Im stranded by the airport after a flight cancellation for a family member. I called this hotel; a gentleman responded and said there was a room available. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, he instructed me to make a reservation through the app to be able to use my points. He also said he would wait the 15 minutes it would take me to arrive, to check me in. However, I realized I didnt have the physical card to match the reservation. I did have a photo of my card and an old version I thought had gone missing but then found. Additionally, I could offer up a different card once I got there, for any hotel holdings. I could also display my Marriott Bonvoy account/info. Names would match across all to my ID. I called again to ensure that would be OK before booking. This time, a woman named Daniela answered, who said that no, I could not speak to anyone else (that there was no one else there & she didnt know who I called) and she could not honor a reservation with any of those items. Disappointing to be a person who just forgot my current card & not be allowed to stay or use my points despite all the other options I presented.

PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. As soon as we entered the building there was a horrible smell. Every thing looks old and run down. The room at mold all over the bathroom and there were many water bugs. We also saw many ROACHES crawling around here which made my skin crawl. I feel very icky in this hotel and it looks like they never clean this place at all. The photos look nothing like this place, Im very disappointed. I will never be coming back! This needs to be shut down for real.

This property no longer meets the minimum standards as a Marriott, even as a 2 star hotel. The place is dated and worn, including the beds. Cleanliness and maintenance are wanting. The painting, caulking and other details are poorly done with gaps and mold in wet areas. Some staff were friendly and helpful, while others were not so much. The first morning there was barely any food available for breakfast. No milk, bananas, yogurt, pancake batter, etc. The next 4 mornings some food was available, but not enough and they quickly ran out of many things. The coffee is terrible, even in the rooms. The breakfast room is too small for the number of guests. There is only a single two slice toaster. We went to the store and got what we needed rather than face the unknown and deal with a crowded room. The beautiful palm fronds in front of the buildings whacked the windows at night when the wind blew, keeping people up at night. As a result, people were tired and cranky so we didnt get to do anywhere as much as we planned. The elevator in our building went down on Sunday and the management apparently chose not to have it serviced until Monday. For those guests on the upper floors with physical challenges, it was an issue; especially dealing with luggage. The signs advising the elevator was out of service on the upper 3 floors remained until Monday night, so some folks ended up using the stairs. The last night a cockroach appeared on the wall in my sons 4th floor room, which resulted in more lost sleep. They woke up to a dead cockroach on the carpet. The dumpster was overflowing too, so this place is a vermin magnet. The BBQ area has grease on the furniture and concrete, and needs a thorough cleaning. The BBQ area is the only outside seating after the pool closes, other than a table and chairs in the far back corner by the overflowing dumpster. This was the first experience in an American hotel for my son's family just arriving from Peru, and they were very disappointed. In addition, there were no visible vermin control measures, such as traps on the exterior or the buildings. The only security cameras were in the lobby; none were noted on the exterior or the buildings or the interior public areas or elevators. The key activations at the entry doors to the buildings were not functioning, even after dark. The interior fire doors on the first floor were propped open, defeating the required self closing mechanism. A number of entry doors had damaged hardware or hardware that was not consistent. There were few receptacles for smokers to put their butts, so butts were scattered about the property.

Dump, plain and simple. This property is a stain on the Marriott brand. The grounds are run down, the inside is just dirty; the staff seemed overwhelmed. We had a 3 night reservation, checked in and decided to leave. As a Platinum Bonvoy member, they did waive the cancellation fee and assist us in finding other lodging in Fort Lauderdale
