Great stay with Gay and Koa, the home is lovely, rooms clean and comfortable, every day began with a delicious breakfast with fellow travelers from the states and around the world. We loved our stay here, wish we would have stayed more. They are a wealth of local knowledge and lovely folks. Highly recommend and hope we get a chance to return! Thank you Gay and Koa.

We were delighted with our stay at Hilo Honu Inn! I highly recommend Hilo Honu Inn for a wonderful experience in Hilo. The best aspect of Hilo Honu Inn is the extraordinary Aloha spirt, warmth and friendliness of the hosts Gay and Koa. We stayed three nights stay in the Bali Hai Suite which is very spacious, clean, and well furnished. The queen size four poster bed was super comfortable for a good sleep. Hilo Honu Inn is in a quiet residential neighborhood, yet close to downtown restaurants and attractions. A highlight of our stay was the amazing breakfasts! Every day Gay and Koa served a generously sized breakfast with a nice mix of various fresh fruits and delicious hot cooked items, plus great coffee, and juice. It was helpful having a fridge in our room and the Bali Hai Suites spa like shower was probably the best shower of any B&B we have visited. Off street parking is spacious and easy to get in and out.

The best B&B experience weve had! Gay and Koa are warm, friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. The house is lovingly kept, very clean with great beds. The Samurai Suite was so unique - originally built as a Japanese tea room. Stayed with my family (incl. two teenagers) - the separate twin bedroom with AC was perfect for them. Bathroom is upgraded. Breakfast was delicious and our hosts even accommodated our early checkout with a breakfast to go for us!
Cant recommend highly enough! Mahalo Gay and Koa for a memorable stay! Would definitely stay here again if we return to Hilo in the future!

This was our second stay at the Hilo Honu Inn. We had stayed there in 2010 and had such a wonderful experience we visited again. This time we stayed 8 nights. Gay and Koa are such wonderful and kind hosts. Breakfast was divine every morning. (much better than the $82 breakfast at Hilton Waikoloa on the Kona side). Our suite was well appointed, spacious and comfortable. Gay and Koa are enthusiastic ambassadors for all things Big Island with a wealth of information and history of the area. Both are incredibly talented artists as well. Thank you so much Gay and Koa for a wonderful stay.
