Hotel Saint Regis Detroit

Booked a room through an online booking agency, 2 months in advance. One month prior to arrival I contacted the location to add guests to my room in case there was an additional fee as per reservation. I was told my room was confirmed and no problem with the extra guest then asked to be placed on hold. Upon returning the man told me my reservation had been cancelled and the hotel was overbooked. I asked when the room was cancelled and he told me a date prior to me even booking. Obviously reading reviews now I see they have a problem with booking and cancellations. But if I didn't call them I would have shown up to be turned away, contacting the booking agency they still never received notification of the room being cancelled by the hotel. Poorly run business model for customers.

No words for how horrible this hotel is. The lobby is gorgeous and looks expensive (the pictures online look gorgeous as well). When you get to your roomIT LOOKS LIKE A CHEAP MOTEL!!! The furniture looks like it was free on Craigslist. How disappointing! And to top it all off, I opened the shower curtain this morning and there was a huge cockroach in the tub. Not only that, but the maintenance man knocked on our door 3 different times telling us he was being told our room needed to be serviced and we kept sending him away. So annoying. Needless to say, I would never recommend anyone stay here. Save your money.

If I could leave a zero start review I would. Unfortunately the hotel cancelled at very short notice because they overbooked. Such a mess.

Rooms are small, beds not to comfortable, but will do for a quick stay.
