image Location cannot say enough for this immaculate and funky stay. Upon being greeted by Zach, professionally and friendly to check out from the same staff, everything was exceptional We will certainly be back
Nearby activities: Location is fabulous. The bus transit system is around the corner, One block behind is a lovely market for food drink snacks, KeyBank centre eight minute walk straight down the street, Nearby bars and food, Bistro on site for wonderful donuts, pastries, and coffee as well as lunch, And the transit system is perfect to access busing to Stadium to catch a Buffalo Bills game.
Safety: This was a non-issue. Felt very, very safe within the hotel as well as externally
Walkability: We attended an NHL game at the KeyBank centre. Walk to, and from was easy with lots of restaurants along the way.
Food & drinks: The caf served high-end quality food and drink, Both were delicious.

image A historic hotel located in downtown Buffalo, and is credited as being designed by the first professional female architect in America.
The hotel could use some updates. The bed was rock solid and tough to sleep on, but it got easier the second night. The electric fireplace was a nice touch. Bathroom sink and toilet are not great, but the shower/tub combo is good for a bath. No mini fridge in the standard room. Also youll need to use street parking or the garage (both cost $) but there is plenty of it. It is located near the Light Rail line and a number of bus lines which is great for getting around, but we found ourselves doing more in Elmwood than the area we were staying in.
Theres some underutilized spaces in the building, like the old brewery and lounge rooms which are currently vacant. There is a coffee shop/cafe on site which provides a 10 percent discount to hotel customers. Wifi is not strong enough to stream, and rooms have traditional cable.
Overall, it wasnt bad, and the staff was nice. The hotel could use some upgrades and provide customers with more amenities that make the price feel like it is worth paying for.

image Room clean, but tub doesn't hold water, sink doesn't drain, heat not working, fake fireplace not working.

image The hotel is beautiful and I was glad to see how well it has been restored. However I was disappointed to learn that both the piano bar and the other restaurant were closed several months ago. My partner and I had done research on the Hotel and were excited to visit both, and spend more time in the hotel itself by extension. When I booked, continental breakfast was advertised, however upon check in (the very kind) front desk staff person informed us that there is no breakfast since the restaurant has been closed for several months. Additionally, the heat in our room wasn't working, and the fireplace - that I upgraded the room in order to have - gave off no heat. The room was super nice and very clean, but it was disappointing that we were not able to explore more of the hotel because these bars were closed and unaccessible.
