The Prince Kitano New York

Have stayed here twice in the past 2 years and both times have been exactly what I want out of a NY hotel. The service is prompt and decently friendly, nothing over the top but efficient. The rooms are well appointed with nice features like a tub and bidets on the toilets. Beds aren't the softest, but they definitely are totally fine after a long city day. Best part to me is the midtown location mixed with amazing soundproofing and other quiet guests. They also have a great rooftop bar with amazing views on warmer months

Great location. If you use the EWR, you can also take the bus from Katagiri-mae in front of Grand Central Station. It was about $25 in September 2023. This time it was JFK, so I took an Uber for about $65. A taxi will cost around $85. There are Korean BBQ restaurants nearby that are open until late at night. Everyone at the front desk of the hotel can speak Japanese, which is a bit strange, but I'm very grateful for that. The rooftop bar is closed on Mondays. Safety: Manhattan is a safe area, so it's relatively safe to stay late at night.

This hotel was fine. I would have preferred that they include the WiFi in the room price since its not cheap to stay here. Renting out the business center to guests seemed excessive. Walkability: Near grand central station.
