I lived at the citizen for 2 years. The only reason I give it 2 stars is for the location. Beyond that, there were many issues, the biggest being that our apartment was infested with ROACHES. We had to completely pack up and move out of our kitchen 2 different times for them to do a treatment. By the end of our lease we were finding them in our bedrooms and bathroom. They were clearly coming from the unit below us and management confirmed this, but unfortunately there were no real solutions. Beware that hundreds of crows also nest in the trees for about 6 months out of the year and COVER the complex in poop. Moving out was a complete cluster. We needed to move out on a Sunday but were told by the manager this was not possible since the office is closed on Sundays? We thought this was very bizarre. After a lot of back and forth we uncovered that yes, there is an entire process for what they do when people move out when the office is closed. Thankfully we could move out on Sunday, but it was so odd that they didnt want to allow this at first. In the end, the loading dock that we reserved was locked. These are just a few of the MANY issues we faced living here, and it only sounds like things have gotten worse since moving out.

The place is full of mice. The gym doesnt work neither the sauna and the community room. They have often water shut off. And the best thing is the price for the rent.

The apartment complex itself is nice, amazing location and amenities. Even though the gym is out of service for now (not the apartments fault.) The mailroom is bad! The mailboxes are broken and you have access to everyones mail. The courtyards are nice but not taken care of, the lights are mostly broken throughout the complex so its hard to see at night in the courtyard areas. The move in process and state of the apartment however were horrid. First off we were told the apartment was ready at the beginning of November and signed paperwork to move in at that time. I was subsequently called and told we could not move in until thanksgiving. This was after already setting up movers and equipment. After going back and forth for a bit Tasha, a temporary manager spoke with me and explained everything and made me feel better about the situation. Now for the move in, the apartment was renovated prior to us moving in and they did a poor job. Sure the countertops, floor (sort of) and carpets were nice. However, portions of the walls were completely missed with paint and it looked like water damage in the bathroom on one of the walls. They left the master closet undone with no shelf or hanging rods. The storage closet for the apartment was full of construction trash and the plywood walls were broken giving access to the neighbors storage. The kitchen sink had screws and a razor blade in the garbage disposal and the new carpet with littered with screws. Whoever they use as a contractor for renovations is ripping this place off. After all that, I still say the apartments are one of the better Ive seen, but they use the cheapest everything and patch everything vs actually fixing it. They need to step up with maintenance.
