Bed bugs. Uncleanliness. Sanitation and Plumbing Issues. Dated rooms and major HVAC issues. Blood-stained duvet insert identified after finding bed bug. Bites on legs, neck and face confirmed by dermatologist after arriving home. Other colleague had mice in room in this hotel. No processes in place for mitigation.
Rooms: Disgusting.
Noteworthy details: Bed bugs.

Marriott needs to make Tim, the assistant general manager here, their president. They should also promote Angela, the housekeeping assistant manager, too. They, and staff like them, make this place special. It is a massive, rambling monster of a hotel, renovated a long time ago from a very old building. It is musty and dated. But these two staff people (and the others) make it a joy to stay here. They do their jobs well and maintain a positive attitude and a helpful good nature under the stress of the eclipse/NCAA Final Four/baseball home opener weekend. Give them a bonus, and a promotion. By the way, this hotel has the best location in Cleveland.

The location is the best thing about this hotel. It is across the street from Rocket Mortgage Arena. The rooms are spacious and relatively clean. I stayed there for about a week during the NCAA womens final four for, 2024. When I checked in, I asked for a full-size coffee pot. I asked two more times and never received the coffee pot. (In the rooms that have single-serve coffee machines.) Breakfast served daily buffet style. The breakfast served here was kind of like what you can get at a gas station, powdered eggs, warmed-up sausage, mediocre coffee, and cereal. I stayed for 8 days, the room was cleaned once. They do have valet parking.
Walkability: Across the street from Rocket mortgage and about a half a mile from Huntington Convention Center CLE.

Terrible place to work for. Management is terrible. They have rats and mice. They will run out of gloves and expect you to clean everything still WITHOUT gloves. They are so unorganized. There is rat and mice feces under the kitchen sinks in each room! Sometimes you could see one run out the room The managers are LAZY. They dont pay you for the times you didnt get a break. They would rather do anything and everything to get rid of their BEST cleaners and keep the people that HALF do their job!! Manager will sit in garage all day smoking cigarettes and watching Netflix or at the desk eating. MANAGER DOES NOT CHECK ROOMS! This place does not value you! Go somewhere else where they will:) This place could honestly be sued!!!

There are better places to stay. If you are looking for a historic hotel and architecture this might be your spot. Or just a crash pad after the game, fine. I prefer to sleep in a place that has been updated in the last 20 years. Nasty carpet. Nasty furniture in our suite. Half the lights didn't work. Outlets open. No USB ports, bring your charger brick. Nothing modern from the last 10-20yrs.
