One of my complaints about the Piedmont school district is how much focus is put on the math & science subjects, and anything outside of that seems to be put on the back burner. So then the students who are more geared towards the "humanities" subjects end up feeling inadequate when comparing themselves to their peers who are more gifted in the STEM subjects. So if I could give any advice to perspective parents it would be..."JUST BECAUSE A SCHOOL IS CONSIDERED 'GOOD,' DOESN'T MEAN IT'S 'GOOD' FOR YOUR PARTICULAR CHILD."You know your child. Do they excel at reading and writing, but despise math and science? Well I can guess that they probably won't magically change their stance on that now. So parents, please listen to your child if they're the kind of kid who favors the humanities subjects, before forcing them into an environment that will only stifle what little confidence they might have in the STEM fields.

I love some of the teachers but this school I've went here for 3 years and experienced some racism that I didn't understand at the time but now that I'm older a lot of the staffs should've been fired. I've encountered it too many times and when Mr.Carol was the principal one time he had pull me out of class and my other friend to do some yard work during our EDUCATED time and it was unacceptable. We stood under the sun for hours until lunch. I understood the consequences but he could've used time wisely. Other students can agree also.  If the rumors are true, some teacher also resigned from that school. "Free" Dress day would also be unfair because us young girls would wear shorts and it was a "distraction" and would also get pulled out of class u tik I change.I was 10-12 at the time if you're sexualizing a young female than you're the problem.

This middle school has some good teachers but the fact the principal can't or won't handle the bullies on his campus is pathetic and unsafe. Look on YouTube Snapchat and there are daily incidents of bully fighting innocent new kids. Gang mentality and I will say it is majority Mexicans. Principal gives no solution nor comfort when bully is addressed. His easy way out for the student is lazy "I'll get the student transferred out to another school. Sign off their transfer papers!". Don't let your child come to this school. Oh yes and the elder employed lady just sitting at the front desk upon entering the office doors, openly gives criticism to the young students she discriminately dislikes. Any private or charter school is way better for your students education and safety than piedmont middle school, San Jose.
