First room didn't open. Second room had wet BLOODY towels on the floor, full trash, no shower curtains, and curly black hair on a visibly stained and unmade bed. Even better, they refused to provide a refund. Worst hotel in the city.

I would have likely gave lower stars however, since I didn't actually fulfill my stay, I felt it would be unfair to do so. First, the positives, the rate/cost was very reasonable and then if you add on the efficiency (stove in the room) it gives even greater value. Unfortunately the stove in our room was poorly kept, but I can't speak for all the rooms. We arrived at 4am with reservations. They do not have someone tending a desk, so you are asked to call, then wait, then about 10-15 minutes later a person opens the front desk. It's obvious this person was sleeping so it's no surprise they were not happy. I'm sympathetic so I understand, and feel this fault lies with the business structure that said, it's also not our fault as guests so, the employee shouldn't be annoyed at us but rather the company. Okay, so we get to our room, open the door, a strong mildew smell mixed with a hint of burnt cooking, likely from guests before us. We turn on the lights, carry our luggage in, and within a few seconds my son had to kill a roach climbing on the wall. Now, this is Florida, roaches are everywhere, so those reading this who are not from the warmer climate need to understand its extremely hard to be roach free. That said, roaches tend to hide well when there is light and action so if they are about roaming freely during this time, chances are, they have a lot of them. Again, I don't want to put a negative stigma on a business for a single instance that could happen to the finest establishments, but I'm compelled to state the facts of my visit. We then quickly took our stuff, went downstairs and requested our money back. We did get our money back, and went on to a different hotel. My review is that of a 30 minute visit to the hotel. I gave a 3 stars because it would be wrong to give lower since I didn't give the hotel a chance to have a lower rating. The employee was not nice, but he really wasn't mean either and we did get our money back. It all could have gone much worst, however, it shouldn't have happened in the first place.
