I had been using this company on a weekly basis spending hundreds of dollars with them. They fraudulently charged my card for a service then refused to issue a full refund. They took no responsibility. I couldn’t get my money back and this overdrew my account leaving me without groceries during this pandemic. They didn’t care. Beware they do not value their customers or the experiences they create. They literally added on extra services and charged me without my permission but made it seem like my fault though I clearly never ordered the service.

I'm new to the West Village, and trying all the local cleaners to find a good one. This location of Next Cleaners does not make my list. I'm a former high-end dry-cleaner tailor, so I have some idea of how these places should work. I brought in a valuable Marni skirt for cleaning and minor repairs. The skirt had a fresh stain on it, which I pointed out to the woman at the counter. She said "ok we will send it for tailoring and then to be cleaned" and I said no, please clean it first, because stains can set and be more difficult to get out after some time has passed and the tailor has worked on the garment with heat and moisture. She acted confused or like she didn't know what I was talking about, and this is when I should have walked out. Instead, we went back and forth a few times about this, and finally I figured the main location would know not to tailor it first. Not only did they tailor it first, but they sent it back to me with MORE stains on it. I had to sign a form releasing them from liability if they couldn't remove the stains, both mine and theirs. 1) They should have given me that form the first time I came, so it wouldn't be delayed 2) Given that the mistake was theirs, I did not want to release them from liability for ruining my $900 skirt. Nevertheless, after fruitless back-and-forths with the counter people, I did sign it, and they did manage to get the stain out. So it ended well, but they clearly are not functioning as they should. Pick a different cleaner.

This place lost my dress pants and won't reimburse me for what they're worth. I dropped off a pair of dress pants, worth ~$190, and come back after a week to pick them up. They tell me that, "Your pants were never checked back into the store, so they must still be at the plant". I email them back and forth for over a week before confirming that my pants were indeed lost, and they then tell me that we need to move into resolution. I sent them the link to my pants on the retailer's website, detailing exactly how much the pants cost. A few weeks go by, and no one tries to get in touch with me. I email them a few times, and they are incredibly bad at replying back to emails. I either have to always send a follow-up email in order to even get a reply. After a few weeks of this, I gave up trying to get in touch via email and went to the dry cleaner's physical location. They then tell me, "Oh, yeah so here's what we can do for you. We can give you $90 and some store credit. I'll get in touch with you asap to move to the next steps". Keep in mind that this is totaling much less than what the pants actually cost, not even accounting for the tailoring that went into them. It's been 2 days since that exchange, and they haven't gotten back to me yet. At this point, I've kind of given up that they actually will get back to me, and will likely have to call / go to the store again to figure out the next step of this process. There are thousands of different dry cleaners in the city. Definitely NEVER going back here again. Should've paid attention to the bad reviews this place got before.
