Worst experience in renting a vehicle in the 40 years I have been doing so. I normally use another company, but thought I would try Avis. If you dont mind standing in line to pickup you prepaid vehicle for nearly two hours, by all means use them. Im telling you I will never use them again!

I had a good experience with Avis Preferred Spokane Airport, but it was expensive by my standard. I was given a Kia Sportage full-size SUV with 7272 miles on the odometer and this was nice enough of a vehicle that my friends requested that I drive us to our dinner venue that evening, as opposed to using one of their personal vehicles. I felt safe in the cockpit and there were plenty of features available, such as Apple CarPlay, lane shift assist, 4-wheel-drive and cruise control which gave me more command of the roadway. I drove about 500 highway miles and these features made it so I did not veer off the road by accident, either over a rainy mountain pass or through dull areas where I might become distracted. I was able to put a rental bicycle in through the hatchback and then transport it a few miles, a small hurdle that I was able to overcome readily. There was ample horsepower and also power steering, which allowed me to traverse unfamiliar roads more readily. I thought that $550 for four days was a bit expensive but this was in return for a good quality vehicle with low mileage. I don't often use rental cars but the next time I do it will probably be through Avis Preferred.
