As a teacher, I love coming here for all of my needs. I just wish they had more 'classroom' stuff (posters, colored tape, bulletin boarders) because all of the specialty stores for teachers have gone out of business. Occasionally, they do, but not regularly.

The buying experience was pretty much perfect. The communication via text about the experience was perfect, the item was ready when I arrived at the store, a staff member put it into my car immediately, and the item was exactly as described.

Let me preface this by saying that I have worked retail. I have worked in customer service. Did I ever have a terrible day at those jobs. Yes. Of course. But one thing I didn't do was to be terse, dismissive and condescending to a customer. Today I popped in to purchase a toner cartridge for the printer at work. I found what I needed and took my place in line. There was one person in front of me. There was only one register open, but soon a guy came to open the other register. He basically gave me a heads up kinda thing. Didn't greet me with a smile, didn't say hello. Squat. He asks me straight up if I have a Staple account. I said no, I didn't believe my boss had an account. He said I could put the phone number into the keypad. I said that I didn't even know the number to the office (I work in a warehouse, and nobody ever calls the number there, so I don't know it) and I'm the only one in the office. So he rings up the printer cartridge, I pay and then he prints out the receipt. The receipt FOR ONE ITEM, was 27 inches long. As I took the receipt, I said "I'd like a longer one please" and I smiled really big and laughed. I wasn't being condescending in any way. He snarkily responds "Well if you'd had an account it wouldn't have been that long." REALLY?? Wait. It's MY FAULT that Staples feels the need to print out five coupons, which I am NEVER going to use, in addition to a one item receipt? This is wasteful. And this dude needs a sense of humor, but more importantly, he needs to learn better customer service skills.
