After being Max’s customer since 2004 I’m pretty disappointed. We went to his new location in Pacific Palisades to take care of our 2018 taxes and it turned out that my wife was missing one of her W2’s. We agreed that she will email it directly to Max within as soon as she gets it but in the meantime he gave us the refund amount and had us sign the paperwork for electronic filing. A week later we got the document and sent it to him the same day via email. About 4 days later— no response. We followed up with the receptionist who, in turn, followed up with him and he said he didn’t get it and that it needs to be resent. I found that odd because typically when an email is sent to the non existing address, it comes back as undeliverable. We resent again and also included a question in the message. The response we got from Max (to include the “answer” to a tax-related question was wonderful and consisted of a single word— THANKS. It left us wondering whether everything was, in fact, filed and how our refund amount was affected. My wife followed up by phone but got the receptionist who stated Max was with a customer and who took in the information along with the questions we needed answered. 3 days later— nothing. My wife followed up again but got the same story. 3 phone calls and 2 weeks later I followed up with a lengthy email— nothing. I, then, followed up with a phone call myself where I’ve clearly expressed to the poor receptionist how frustrated I was and that I needed to talk to Max ASAP. 2 days went by and still nothing. After all these years, I can’t honestly say that I have no intention of going back to this place and that I plan on filing a formal complaint through California Board of Accountancy if I do not hear back by April 15

Incompetent staff and very slow service. You can take an appointment a week ahead of time and still wait an hour once you get there. I filed my taxes 2 months ago with them and I just received a mail from the IRS saying that it's missing documents, no way of getting hold of the accountant on mail/phone because they're always "busy". Avoid at all costs!

Max has been doing my taxes for years. He does an excellent job choosing right deductions from myriad of IRS rules and exceptions, so I don't have to. He made it a really friction-less process to file tax returns.
