The Best Western Mt Vernon Inn is now closed. After serving the Winter Park community for 65 years we have sold the property and a new development will be built on this site, probably next year. I'm going racing Cheers y'all Rick Frazee Retired Proprietor

Not usually one to write reviews but I had an awful experience at this particular location. The room we had originally booked did not have a working ac/heater unit. On this particular night it was less than 40 degrees outside. The solution for them was to move us to the next room over. While the maintenance man was in the room he did not offer to help my 56 year old mother with hip problems with the bags (there wasn't that many and I was down the road getting supplies for the night). After a couple hours we realized the new room assigned to us did not have a working ac/heater either. By that time it was already too late and we had to suffer through the night sleeping in our clothes in the beds. The morning after we asked the man at the desk for compensation of any kind. He said his name was "Ron" and was very difficult to deal with. When my mother mentioned she thought it was rude the maintenance man didn't help with the bags "Ron" said it wasn't a full service hotel and she was acting SEXIST. Being from Texas we could not understand why he would accuse us of that when where we are from you help out an older woman who needs assistance. I will not be checking into ANY Best Western for the rest of my life. This was an awful experience and I do not recommend anyone staying at this particular hotel in Orlando, FL

Loved the pet friendly rooms and appreciated how accommodating the hotel was for pets.

Since we frequently stay in motels that have been built more recently, our one-night stay at the Best Western Mt. Vernon Inn generated a sense that "this is the sort of motel we used to stay at." The motel had a somewhat old fashioned feel about it in terms of its layout, our room's furnishings, etc. Not that this was a bad thing; on the contrary, we enjoyed the experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is outstanding in terms of access to Winter Park's downtown, major roads and highways, etc. Our room was large, clean, and contained everything we needed. The room rate was quite reasonable, though did not include breakfast (which is available on-site, however). Would we stay there again? Absolutely.
