Diversicare of Big Springs

Great cnas in the morning, especially Twin. Food was always cold. At times you were left in a wet diaper for 4 to 5 hours. They are very short staffed. Pt and OT very great especially Presely. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

My aunt was in a terrible facility. She was depressed, physically neglected and slowly dying. I finally got her into Diversicare Big Springs in Huntsville and she has been there 7 months and made huge strides! The staff loves her, she gets the care she needs, they listen and act on my concerns and always include me in her care plan. She is truly happy here and I am glad she has a good place to live. Her laugh and smile say it all!

Staff is super kind. Every time Ive been there to visit the staff have been very helpful. Clean facilities. Mom being taken care of very well. Things obviously have changed since last posts.

I wish I could rate less than a one star. My mom was there for 10 days. She only received 1 bath during the stay, even after requested one the whole time. The never changed out her pick line for her antibiotics. Should have been changed twice. The first 3 days she didnt receive any of her medications. Including her blood thinners that she is on for life due to open heart surgery. 9/10 nights they forgot to bring her dinner and she would have to call for hours to get someone to bring her something. I came up there, I was buzzed in by a random guy that was walking by. I had my moms stuff in a backpack. No one asked who I was seeing or where I was going. Walked thru, never stopped. Only 2, I mean 2 nurses for the entire building. When discharged with no notice at all. I got there and no one seemed to know what was going on and said I would have to come back later. They ended up getting her out within 10 minutes.I didnt have to sign anything, no discharge paperwork. No set up for home health services. Not to mention when I was trying to make sure I didnt need to be buzzed out, if course no staff around, the entire side smelled of urine. They have been contacted by the home health now taking care of her, they have none of her medication or care at j their system. Please dont put anyone here. Its horrible.
