Posted from Nextdoor, Today around 11:00 a.m. I was in the parking lot of Ross when I was approached by a man asking me if I was missing a child. I went over to check on the child he was a little boy around the age of 2 crying and wet in the street between 2 cars by himself. A woman also came walking up and then she ran into little Flowers daycare to check if they were missing a child and YES they didn't even know the child was in the street outside in the parking lot! So if anyone has a child at that daycare I would probably reconsider. Glad the little boy wasn't hurt, could have turned into something tragic.

We recently enrolled our child at this place and she was 3 years 10 months old at the time of admission. We went on a tour, met the director, Vanessa Bataclan. We clearly mentioned that our daughter was not potty trained and also wanted 5 days a week. Vanessa did not mention any issue with that and said it was fine, but said that she will have to be in the 2-3 year old classroom till she was completely potty trained. She only had 2 days a week available but promised us that she would definitely be able to give us 5 days the following month. So we trusted her words and enrolled our child for the Tues/Thur schedule in May. When we went in after a week of admission to turn in our physician form, Vanessa said that she had made a mistake and overlooked our child's age and thought she was closer to 3.5 years when she was enrolled and said that if she was not potty trained by 4, she will have to withdraw her as she can't be in the 2-3 year old classroom and nor would she be accepted in the 3 plus classroom unless she was completely potty trained. We mentioned her age when we toured the facility, wrote her age in 10 different forms and also submitted the application packet 1 week prior to joining and this lady did not even bother to go through them and see her age. She did not communicate anything clearly about this potty training clause when we enrolled our child. Since we couldn't guarantee that our child would be thoroughly potty trained by that timeline ( when she would turn 4 ) we had to start looking out for another school. Because of this lady's inefficiency at her job, we had to forfeit $175 registration fee for just 1.5 months at this facility. Also, this lady is extremely unprofessional and did not bother to reply to any of our emails asking her about the registration fee as it was clearly a mistake from her end. She had admitted that herself to us that she had overlooked our child's age at the time of admission.     I should also mention the concerns we felt about this facility. There are no safety measures in place. The front door is always unlocked and anyone can walk in/out. Even when the indoor mask mandate was on, parents were allowed without masks well into the classroom, close to all the other children. There are no backup staff and when we joined, the teacher Nupur was on vacation for a long period and Vanessa was manning the front desk as well as Nupur's classroom and clearly looked way out of depth in handling the situation there. The lady was always looking hassled and there was no proper feedback any day about how the child's day was. There is no concept of a daily report or incident report or anything. Our child came with a huge nail scratch on her cheek one day and I went back in to check how that had happened and Vanessa said that my child had pulled the hair of another child and that's why that child had scratched her with his/her nail. I don't know what is true here as she did not care to mention the incident herself till we found out and questioned her. When I asked if there was any bleeding and if my child should have a tetanus shot, this lady tangentially replied that the other child scratched her only because my child pulled his/her hair first. Both are wrong if that is what truly happened. As a teacher it is her responsibility to make both children understand that as well as be honest and upcoming and inform the concerned parents about the incident. Nupur is again a very unmotivated teacher, lacks in enthusiasm and very poorly engages the children. I saw a video from school where there are just 5 children in the class that day and for 2 whole minutes, this lady dances with just 2 children who are already waving and dancing and she does not even glance at the 3 other children sitting around without participating. If she was a good teacher, she would split her time equally among the children and help involve the children who need a bit of a push to join. This lady was more interested in dancing for the video.    Anyways when we questioned Vanessa on the refund of the registration fee, she did not bother to respond to any of our emails. We asked her for the contact of someone from the administrative end and we told her directly that we wanted to file a complaint about her mis-management of this situation. She did not respond to that as well. It was total disregard for us as parents/customers. Her attitude seemed to say you can do whatever you want and I don't care. I think her attitude stems from the fact that the entire Little Flowers Franchise backs these unscrupulous staff. Their staff are not held to any accountability and they do not face any repercussions. Very substandard teachers, unethical director and fraudulent management.
