Wanted to give Mikey's another shot today after reading more 5-star reviews. With only a handful of patrons in before 9a, I thought we would get better service. We did get a quicker introduction with our menus compared to last time, but one of the menus was filthy dirty. See the picture...Not the greatest 2nd impression of Mikey's.
We asked for coffee and a latte. Latte machine was temporarily down so we get 2 coffees. Ok. I immediately asked for some 1/2 and 1/2 but waited close to 10 minutes before standing up and asking some. Someone else brought it right away and our waitress apologized for forgetting.
Once Latte machine was fixed, we got a latte after all. That tasted good.
Food was good too but took some time to receive. We had some pancakes and an egg white omelette.
This visit was ok. Not sure we will give this place another shot.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
Mikeys took over as the replacement of The Nook in Newbury Park. Service is not as fast as before. Took a long wait just to be greeted and bring us our menu. Multiple tables open but many were not clean.
Tried their Chilaquiles. Like the crunchy tortillas but lacks spicy flavor. Its definitely the American version of Chilaquiles but it tasted good.

My Wife and I stopped by Mikey's restaurant a few weeks ago. We were very pleasantly surprised.
She ordered a BLT, the bacon was cooked just right, and plentiful. The bread was fresh, lightly toasted and the lettuce and tomato were fresh. The French fries were tasty.
I ordered a Fajita Omelette with chicken. The omelette was perfect, just enough bite sized chicken chunks, the jalepeo peppers appeared to be de seeded, reducing their heat, plus plenty, but not too many bell peppers and onions. The real stroke of genius was the fresh basil added to the omelette, giving it a burst of fresh!
The owner has over 18 years in the kitchen and he and his family members and staff work harmoniously to make every guest feel welcome.
There are things still to come, like an expresso bar.
They offer some entertainment, in the form of a singing waiter. A small stage set up for, open mic night? We will see!
All in all, a great meal and a pleasant experience.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, you name it, the extensive menu has something for every taste
They serve a good selection of beers, plus some specially made wines.
Try it, you will be back again.

Nice wait staff and great food. They have nightly karaoke so we enjoyed the music while dining!
