Love this school everyone is so friendly and kind. The academics are higher than most other schools. Highly recommend you check them out. Carey is the best!

My child is thriving here. I toured EVERY SINGLE school nearby. This was the best: size of classes, opportunists, academics, sports, etc.I'm grateful for the teachers and admin. Seriously it's been great the past two years.

Updating my review after our kid has completed 3rd and 4th grade here, and as we close up a full year of School in a Pandemic. The small class size (about 18, I think?) was a huge advantage to this kids, as the school navigated Covid, Distance Learning, and everything that goes with it. The communication from administration about the choices they were making to navigate the mess of the last year was pretty good, especially considering they were also dealing with a certain amount of waiting for clear communication from LA County Health Departments. The main reason I feel compelled to update this review, however, is for the teachers. My kid's 3rd grade teacher was so smart, kind, caring, and helpful to my kid we were reluctant to leave her behind. Until we got his 4th grade teacher who has been an absolute rock star, and in the Hardest Year Ever. She really understands kids this age. When my kid went back to campus this spring, his long-time bully went for him on day 2. We notified the school right away and his teacher not only addressed it with the kid, she took the whole class through a seminar, basically, on kindness, what it feels like to be bullied, and standing up for other kids. It was swift, smart, and effective. On the other hand, when he found himself on the outs with some friends after something he did, she and the other 4th grade teacher facilitated an opportunity to apologize & ask for forgiveness. On top of which: he's acing his classes. I don't know if every teacher here will always be as in-tune with my kid's needs, but until now we've been blessed with some exceptional people.Anyway. This last year has been tough as hell. If parents have budget for an affordable private school, I still recommend at least taking a tour.

Moreover, I want to add usually, the kids that are asked to leave are the once that have parents in  denial of their issues and blame it on others and most likely are going to be presented with the same issues somewhere else.

A great school for parents who want their children to have no self expression, free thinking, or feel safe. I spent my middle school years being "educated" here. I'm writing this now because I feel like it's my responsibility to warn parents before sending their children here. I pray things have changed since I went to school here- from my experience, there were countless times where my classmates were shamed for mental health challenges, treated differently because of their race, and the teachers/administration were extremely misogynistic. I witnessed boys being sexually inappropriate with girls more times than I can count, and when they were brave enough to report it to the school the boys would get a pass. every time. Not to mention, teachers are spewing racist rhetoric on facebook as I write this. Please do your research before sending your children here.
