I just spent time at Aegis Living. It was a wonderful experience. They made sure I was comfortable in every way. When I arrived the staff greeted me "en masse." They made sure I was comfortable in my bed. egis is very clean, well taken care of and decorated nicely. It is homey and comfortable. The staff all learned my name and made it a point to greet me when they passed me. The food was good and they had choices. They had a new soup daily which I consider important in giving variety. Daily they publish a menu of activities. They change activities all the time and go from entertainment, to games, to physical activities, etc. they encourage group participation, etc. It is a comfortable, fun living environment which I recommend.

I moved my grandmother into assisted living 5 months ago after 46 years of living in her own home out of state. I was so afraid how she would transition but the caring staff made it so great! They treat her like she is a guest at a hotel. They have many activities available (movies, art, scenic drives, happy hours, lessons, exercise) and they are just the right amount of encouraging but arent pushy about them if a resident isnt into it. This is one of the best things about the care at Aegis - the staff is respectful of each resident based on their unique needs. My grandma cannot walk unassisted and they offer the perfect amount of help- encouraging her to keep moving safely and use her walker to get down to meals but also helping her when she needs special accommodations. They distribute her medications to her reliably, and have been very kind and patient when grandma gets confused. My grandma loves the food so much! Lots of variety as well as standby favorites. I was so nervous about this big change in our lives but she has come out happier and much healthier than when she was at home. I am so glad we chose Aegis San Francisco.

Overall very positive. Much better holistic care for Parkinson's than my mom was experiencing at another facility. Staff are caring, compassionate, and responsive. We would have appreciated more proactive hand holding at move in to get set up with all the available services (there was a staff transition at the time), but have been very pleased and relieved with the transition.

My mother moved in to Aegis SF about 1 1/2 months ago, she has age related dementia and it has caused OCD. She gets confused easily & thrives on routine. The staff here is very attentive and compassionate. They take the time to listen & help It's the little things that make someones life easier, Aegis caregiving has done this for my mom. The community is clean and the people who live there are happy. We are thankful we found this place. Just a wonderful community to be living in for seniors. Thank you to the staff for making it a comforting transition.

First and foremost, myself and my mom could not be happier with the decision we made on moving her from a 2500 SqFt home to Aegis of San Francisco. It was not easy, its emotional and a lot of work. The folks we encountered at Aegis of San Francisco made it so much easier. Mom is now much happier, brighter, and perkier. The pictures from the first day to now are a big difference. I apologize in advance for the lengthy review. Moving a parent into an assisted living community is not easy emotionally or physically. Theres lots of moving parts so Ive tried to cover as much as possible. From the get-go the staff from Aegis of SF have been incredibly kind, helpful, and an asset to the whole process. My first encounter was with Devon Kessler the Director of Marketing. She knew how to reach out and be supportive and not too pushy. There are other places I visited that still send me email, even after I told them no and why I said no. Devon was incredibly responsive once I said, yes a visit please. She arranged it so that we could meet in person (safely), talk about Aegis of SF and so that I could have a limited tour of the community. Please note Aegis of SF is a community and not in any way a facility. She started our meeting by asking me how I was, acknowledging that the process is not easy ant that she would be there through the entire process. From the tour to the interview and Chat with Chris Lyons the GM, to the interview with mom and their head of nursing, to picking moms apartment (even the wall color). She and Chris were there even on moving day. Chris made sure both mom and I had some lunch when we got there. Grilled shrimp salad, it was excellent and really appreciated. Chris Lyons the GM has been super helpful as well. After talking with me about my moms wants and likes she immediately started thinking of folks to get my mom engaged with on day one. She said she knew the perfect ladies to have her dine with as well as some other residents to engage with. Mom has made many, many friends. She says they laugh and giggle all the time. Additionally, after I said mom was particular about laundry and how it was done, she said I know Sushi will be perfect for your mom, Ill get on that. She did and she was right! Chris thinks of each resident as an individual, and you can tell she cares for each one of them. Lets talk about some of the other staff. Ayub the head of maintenance was indispensable, patient, kind and funny. We had a lot of furniture and such to move into moms apartment. Our movers werent the best, so Ayub and Devon made sure everything got taken care of and handled. Once mom and I got things unpacked and moved into place it was time to hang the pictures and the TV. Ayub came to my rescue, I couldnt have done it and he was great. I couldnt possibly mention all the staff (Im terrible at names) theres so many Ive engaged with. I would have loved to call out people in the nursing/tech staff (Corrina is great), the Housekeeping staff (Sushi is fantastic) and in Life Enrichment (Jane is amazing!). The Life Enrichment program helps keep mom engaged, moving and having tons of fun. Google has a character limit. There's much more I had. Perhaps you can ask Devon at Aegis SF to share my entire Missive. Thank you Aegis Living of San Francisco, P.Haynie
