The room 110 was newly renovated and had updated furniture. The bathtub was nice and deep. My only negative is that there was no sign to find the Inn. The building is not easily found but we enjoyed our stay overall. Walkability: Easy to walk to downtown and leave your car behind.

My wife and I spent 2 nights in February 2024. As other reviews have noted, there is no on-site staff. This was a bit inconvenient for addressing immediate needs/questions. My wife was pleased with the cleanliness. I contacted them in the morning about the slow-draining shower tub, and the issue was resolved by the time we returned later in the day. We chose Old Tale Inn partly because it was quieter than some other options. Recommended.

We spent MLK weekend here during a brutal winter storm and could not have been happier with our stay! The room was warm and cozy and the service was fantastic.

Cute room, comfy beds, Netflix guest access and a great hot tub! Some reviews note the lack of onsite staff as a con, but we really liked the DIY and hands-off experienceit was very easy and efficient. There is no such thing as a $60 room in-season in a small mountain town in Colorado anymore so thats just an unfair complaint. We will definitely be back

We needed a night in Leadville and Old Tale Inn was the best of the remaining options, albeit expensive at >$270 for the night. The hotel looks like an older roadside motel that's been updated (12 rooms in total). Decor was modern and the bed (mattress) was good. We did notice some rodent droppings in the bath, as well as observed one in the hot tub area (alive of course). The bath still looked very 1970's but had some freshening. However - it was missing places to hang things - no towel racks by the sink, only one trash can in the place (we had to search for it). We'd read that the walls were thin, but didn't have any issues with this. Coffee was in a 'central' location (inside the enclosed hallway) with a single French press and microwave. (Had to get water from the room.) There was a huge refrigerator for people to store foods. Seems like they also cater to people needing to stay in town for a while. The real issue I had though is that unlike most hotels, this one operates more like an AirBNB, with remote entry and no management onsite (you receive an email with an entry code for the room). That was ok for the most part - but the one thing that got me is that they use fabric softener on their sheets and towels, and I'm quite allergic to this. I'm still dealing with the eczema it caused on my legs. I doubt I'd stay here again, but it filled a short term need. One more comment: they have a wheelchair accessible room, but you must cross gravel to get to the ramp. Needs to be paved!
