Not the same vet I used to love. Took cat in for dental procedure that took 9 hours. No communication. Pissy when I challenged them for an update

This used to be great, reliable vet but everything has drastically changed given a recent ownership change. My mother took her cats to this facility for years. She is elderly and no longer able to walk so I have taken up the duties of taking her female cat into this vet for a bi-monthly shot for severe allergies that cause the cat great discomfort. I do not live in the area, so the routine shot requires a bit of planning. Last month, I called Church Street Vet Hospital, and made the appointment which was for the following week. On the appointed day, I took my mothers 16 year old, frail cat in for her shotmuch to her verbal protest (lots of meowing). Upon arrival, I couldn't help but notice the drastic staff change and public display of blue prints depicting the planned drastic facility renovation...quite obvious the practice was changing hands. After checking in and talking with the new staff, I took a seat and waited. The wait was longer than in the past. A younger lady repeatedly walked past and told me a number of times they would be with me soon. After a long wait, another lady with bright red dyed hair approached me in the waiting room with the other younger woman in tow. She told me the veterinarian was not in today. I asked why they would make an appointment if the vet was not available. Instead of answering a logical question, the woman with the candy apple red hair informed me that she had examined the cats medical records and that they needed to conduct a number of tests on the cat. I replied that within the past few months, I had paid a couple of hundred dollars for an examination in addition to the regular bi-monthly shot. She replied that there were a number of new tests that needed to run. She made that assessment without the licensed vet being on the premises....no doubt trying to generate new money for a new renovation.
