Was traveling for my birthday & visited for Afternoon Tea. I called 3 times 2 days before my visit - knowing that I was going to be driving in, I wanted all the plans to be smooth. I get there. No record of my reservation. I show my call log to prove that it was no issue on my end. We ended up getting seated & our waitress was very nice & the finger foods & tea were nice as well. We expected a small amount & to go to lunch after but we were so full. Concierge was not nice or helpful when we asked about the area but the valet man outside was. Really the concierge just killed the experience. We also waited about 30 min after we were done to see how to leave a tip (you put your card down before tea) & no one ever checked on us. Unsure if it was included in our reservation or not. Honestly wouldnt go back or recommend to anyone. Lots of hotels in the city offer this experience - dont put up with rude people Food & drinks: We went to the bar after & they had an extensive draft beer selection which was shocking. Very nice

The nightmare of my stay just doesnt end. In addition to my previous review (see review from Imari L.), I am still dealing with the incompetence and subpar professionalism of the hotel staff. Almost a week after checkout and my issues have yet to be completely resolved. After my credit card was charged in error while staying at the hotel, it was then charged again (over $350) a day after checkout! The only person who seemed to care about this error was the front desk clerk, Jordan, who not only explained why it happened but was very apologetic in doing so. The manager, Shelly, was another story. She was curt and simply unpleasant. And I have been blocked from their social media pages after commenting about my experience! I have NEVER been treated this poorly as a customer and I am extremely disappointed that what was once my favorite downtown hotel, continues to cause me such anguish.

The room was out-dated, dark, and felt uninviting. Layout was also inconvenient. There was no separate vanity from the bathroom so only one person could get ready at a time. Black and dark wood paneling made the room feel old. You could see the cheapness in the bed skirt and lack of comforters. Giant desk took up a lot of room. I don't think most people need a giant desk in their hotel room. No guide in the room. Pool room very outdated as well. Old rusty metal towel cabinet. (Which was empty when we went down) Nearby activities: Good central location. Short drive to aquarium, stadium, museum, park. Could also walk to park. We chose not to because it was cold

This is a wonderful hotel with great service in the thick of downtown Chicago. It is just about walking distance from everywhere good to visit. Food at catered hotel events were great. Check it out.
