About
Graduate Bloomington
Here at Graduate, we believe life is a timeless journey filled with memory-making stops, extraordinary rites of passage and all the courageous leaps of faith that get you where you’re going. Welcome to Graduate Bloomington—where your intellectual curiosity meets your favorite place to stay.Prominently located on Kirkwood Avenue, our digs are just steps from IU’s iconic Sample Gates and next door to all the shops and eats on historic Courthouse Square. We’re Hoosier headquarters for meetups (Lotus Festival, anyone?) and meetings, and Little 500 central for Quals, Cutters and pros alike. #BYOBIKEOur lobby invites conversation with a wink and nod to B-town’s famously fictitious b-ball team— “Welcome To Indiana Basketballâ€! The lexicon is lit by a cluster of game winning globes dangling amidst an artful install of hoops and commissioned local works. The puzzling major (enigmatolgy for the win?) and checkered past of IU alum Will Shortz, has influenced our crossword-clad floors. The vintage bleachers, over stuffed sofas and court-long tables, play host to a whole lotta hanging out with a warm convo on tap.

Stayed here to experience the solar eclipse as it is close to IU but we ended up passing on going to the university as The Graduate held its own solar eclipse party for their guests on their terrace that we decided to go to and was very happy we did. The staff did a fantastic job. The crowd was much smaller, making the experience feel more personal.

Great location next to campus! Rooms were spotless so thoughtfully decorated with IU decor. Really enjoyed our stay and the great hospitality of the staff.

Great stay !! Our arrival was delayed by one day due to a severe snowstorm. The team at The Graduate had a room ready early for us when we arrived the next day, which allowed for us to quickly jump into planned activities with our college senior. The location in the heart of IU Bloomington campus town is perfect. The room was decorated well, very clean, comfortable, great shower.
Nearby activities: In the heart of IU Bloomington campus town. Walkable to a bunch of great restaurants, the Sample Gates, and campus in general.

We came to town for our son's concert at Jacobs and took a gamble in staying here. I'm generally not a fan of boutique hotels. As a surprise for my husband, I booked 1 night in the Stranger Things suite, followed by 4 nights in a regular room. As a veteran world traveler I can honestly say that I have NEVER been more pleased with a hotel stay than I was with the Graduate. The location of this hotel is perfect. There are fun things to see, do and eat within walking distance, and the university is a a 5 minute drive away. The facilities are amazing. The Stranger Things suite is not for everyone, but we enjoyed it. It really is legit in terms of feeling like you're in Hawkins. All of the stuff in there is 100% vintage. We had a great time in there playing board games from the 70's and 80's instead of watching TV (beware, it really is 1980 in there, there is no TV)! Our "regular" room was beautiful and well maintained. The beds were super comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and detail oriented. The food in the coffee shop was good. I love that the hotel provides a safe and welcoming environment for students to come and study. Having all of them in there just added to the great ambiance of the place. I fell in love with a piece of art hanging in our room and the front desk staff gave me a framed copy of it before we left. Who does that?! This hotel is just simply amazing. I cannot wait until our next visit to Bloomington. I would LOVE for our little college town to get one of these hotels. They're wonderful! Stay here, you won't be disappointed!
