After conversations with Zak we decided to move out and let him fix up the house vacant. It was in good but not perfect condition when we moved out. Zak carefully touched it up, working hard to maximize the return on our investment. We spent less than $10,000 and probably made an addtion $40000 for that investment. Zak is amazing and brilliant. As well as careful, conscientious and responsive. Best realtor one could work with, especially if you interested in having him improve and sell your vacant home.

My husband Robert and I are so grateful for the professionalism and ease Zak showed in our house hunting efforts. Zak is such an amazing person and our sense of humor matched up perfectly. He was laser focused in finding out what our house needs were and he made sure he kept us focused on not settling for the first house available just because we were anxious to find a house. Zak was punctual and quick to respond to emails and text messages. More than a realtor, I feel like we have found a new friend. Zak is great to work with. I don't live in Bloomington and in order to sell the condo I lived in during graduate school, I had to delegate most if not 100% of the cleaning, renovation, new appliances delivery etc to Zak and he helped me throughout the whole process. What I particularly appreciate is the fact that Zak is very responsive, since day ONE. (I work in management consulting and being prompt in responding is super important, and Zak is very responsive by my standard) All in all, a great experience for me as the seller. Highly recommend.

Zak is an absolutely phenomenal agent. As first time home buyers, Zak not only took on the burden of educating us about the local neighborhoods, but he also graciously answered the numerous questions we had about the whole process. Viewing houses with him is such a reassuring experience as he has an eagle eye- he saw so many things that we as rose-colored buyers didn't notice at first. He has so many connections within in the industry and his shortlist recommendations for contractors, inspectors, title companies, etc, took off SO much pressure off us to fill these needs in such tight deadlines. In such a competitive market, I am positive his experience and guidance is the main reason our offer was accepted. A few years later as our selling agent, he went above and beyond to help us prep our house for showing. His background and experience was truly priceless, and I would 100% recommend his services. He's a great guy and we truly enjoyed working with him!

If you are looking for someone to help you buy or sell your home, Zak Szymanski is your guy! Zak helped my husband and I purchase a home in Bloomington almost 8 years ago. We got a recommendation from our son, who had just completed his first home purchase with Zaks help. Our sons home was a fixer-upper and so was ours, and that is where Zak was particularly helpful. He had superior expertise in handling the problems that our inspections identified. He was able to guide us to second opinions, and helped us secure estimates on remedies and/or negotiations with the sellers. His people skills and attention to detail really kick in when tensions arise over the hundreds of problems that can occur between an offer and a closing. If he doesnt have an answer to a question, or know of a contractor who can fix a problem, he will find one. One of Zaks strongest points is the relationships he builds with his buyers, his sellers, and all the people that support the real estate process. Zak is exceedingly patient and listens well to his clients. He tirelessly drove us around Bloomington for a whole day as we had traveled 5 hours from out of town. In retrospect, I now know that he was silently listening and trying to understand what exactly we were looking for. He stayed very neutral in the process. Zak is not pushy in any way and strives to make his clients happy. We ended up buying a property that I dont really think Zak would have chosen for us, but he aggressively pursued it with us, and did not give any opinions unless we asked for them. He even helped us handle our realtor on the other end who was not helpful at all! To date, Zak has helped us buy one home, our son buy two homes, and most recently he helped another son who is purchasing a home many hours away. I reached out to Zak for him as he had a ton of questions about financing and I knew Zak could answer them better than I could. He generously connected him to a lender he trusts here and has a personal relationship with. Zak and his lender had nothing to gain by doing this. I just knew he would graciously help because thats who he is. Within 48 hours of my inquiry, my son had an appointment with a lender here in Bloomington to help him get started! In addition, every one of my sons friends who live in Bloomington have, in turn, used Zak as their realtor. Bending over backwards to be helpful and thorough is an under-statement for him. We have bought and sold four homes in our lifetime and never experienced the kind of communication and attention that Zak has given to us and our family. We all say to each other, Just ask Zak because we know that Zak will have the answer or help us find one. His network is far-reaching and his perseverance and ability to think outside the box is commendable. if you are looking for a smart, experienced, friendly, hard-working and creative realtor, then look no further. You will not want to lose touch with him when your transaction is over because people like Zak are few and far-between. Choose Zak. It will be the best decision you ever made.
