Living at Garfield feels like "home". It's comfortable and sufficient for one's needs. When I need to have something done, I can just tell the one in charge. A plus treat for me is having the administrator's and owners' children spend time with me. I feel like I'm part of a family with them and with others who live here. I've loved the beauty of the outdoors since I was a child and spent much time gardening in my home. Flowers, shrubs and greenness are surrounding The Garfield building! Knowing that we share a relationship as followers of Jesus is the greatest joy!

Everyone makes you feel at home here. The apartments are all larger than most apartment complexes. The Garfield has covered parking so we don't have to deal with ice on our cars anymore. I like that each apartment can set it's own temperature. The patio is beautiful and my wife and I enjoy eating, having coffee and reading out there. We have been able to use the commons for a large family gathering and it was so nice to have a place to meet. The doors here all self-lock for night time security. I like that someone can say they need help and someone will always be there to help them!

The Garfield creates gorgeous living spaces with seniors in mind. The integrity of the historical building adds such interesting architectural flare, and the sense of family there is top notch. The owners advertise that residents will feel like part of a family, but they take that promise above and beyond expectation. Residents may take advantage of many unique programs such as grocery delivery, in-home physical therapy and hospice care, in house activities, outdoor activities on the grounds, and the love and care of a family environment. The Garfield is paving a new road in senior living. If you are a senior looking to downsize without sacrificing amenities and living space, this facility may be perfect for you!

This place is wonderful and awesome! Being it is independent living allows seniors the opportunity and privilege to continue in a self sustaining and valued way by which they can make their own decisions.
The remodeling of the school into 1 or 2 bedroom apartments was done beautifully to accommodate seniors that might need walking aids. They are sharp with new fully equipped kitchens, washing machine and dryer, and spacious rooms.
Moving my mom out of an assisted living facilities with the stringent guidelines into The Garfield vastly changed her attitude, improved her emotional health and saved nearly 40-45% of her monies.
The Gilmore family are most caring and thoughtful family as owners of The Garfield. Shannon, the sister of the Gilmore brothers, is a thoughtful and gracious manager of said facility. Their Christlike life and beliefs translate into a passionate personal care of the residents!
Frankly speaking, compared to government aided facilities and nursing homes, the cost is quite reasonable n facilities appropriate in size for seniors desiring to downsize from a large home. If you are thinking of moving into The Garfield... go for it!

It's been a VERY VERY good experience. The Gilmore's are a lovely family. I have heard some people think it a little high for rent but I tell them ALL the utilities and etc that come with it.
