I went in to have a tooth examined and I was examined by Dr. Rutherford - he treated me like I was unworthy of service, that I was wasting his time and my tooth was beyond his expertise. There are much better DDS in Topeka that show compassion and understanding for people with high anxiety in a dental setting.

I was on business in Topeka, KS when I experienced excruciating tooth pain. I attempted to visit and call several dentists in the area only to find out that the office hours posted were incorrect or not followed. This was a Thursday afternoon so before I could get help, all offices closed. Friday morning arrived, surprisingly, the majority of dental providers in this town do not provide services on Fridays. I googled Topeka Dentist open on Fridays and Dr. Rutherfords Office was the fourth one that I called for a last minute work-in. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. They worked me in and I got an excellent evaluation and recommendation on how to save the tooth. I left the clinic only to change my mind and go back to the office (pain is a great persuader) and requested a tooth extraction. Again the staff accommodated me and in no time at all the tooth was extracted and two unscheduled visits were allowed on a Friday. Dr. Rutherford was efficient, knowledgeable, proficient and nice. Every staff member (Lyndie, Katie, Melissa and others) all went above and beyond to make sure that I felt welcomed and received the care that I needed. Please use Dr. Rutherford for all of your Dental Care Needs. -Louisiana Visitor who has given up Powerade! ;-)

I have been coming here for about 10 years I think. I had lived in Manhattan for the past 2 and a half years and would drive an hour to see Dr. Rutherford. I now live in Emporia and continue to come here. Excellent dentist and excellent hygienists.
