So, during all the craziness of home insurance and car insurance prices increasing, I spend a lot of time searching for the best rates and coverage before my current policy ends. Gone are the days of your insurance rates holding steady from year to year. In Sept 2023, I was searching for homeowners insurance, I thought I had found an insurance broker and I was going to sign but I received a mailer Stephen Wilde, Allstate in Bangor, Maine. It was my luck to have my call answered by Alaina Jensvold. She listened to our needs about our home. Somehow, other ins companies were valuing the cost to rebuild our home at over $1,000,000.00 to insure. Alaina went through everything and valued our home to rebuild appropriately. Other insurance companies were saying my home was a premium build with all these custom features. It's not. It's a 200 year old farm house, nothing is spectacular except the year it was built and that its still standing strong. All the previous homeowners had maintained it well, as we did since purchasing it. And this is regarding structural repairs. Not custom interior. And you don't get special rates just making sure your foundation, walls , and roof are sound. That's just basic care. We have a nice home but it's not custom. Anyways. Alaina listened and took the time to make sure we are insured at a correct rate and the money needed to rebuild, God forbid, if anything happens. And we transferred our car over to Allstate too. The car rate was comparable to the last insurance company.
Now, at the beginning of January, we traded in our land rover and bought a truck. I did call Allstate 24 hour number and received a quote. It was a great rate. Well, after we picked up the vehicle the following week, I called our Allstate agent to have the quote put in place. Well, the 24 hour customer service representative did not save the quote. And after getting new outrageous quotes directly from Allstate directly, I hung up and called Alaina at Stephen Wildes office, Allstate Insurance broker. Once again, Alaina shined. She listened, found where I had called in but the 24 hour customer service rep did not save the quote or amount. Before Alaina, no other customer service rep said they could even find the call. And then Alaina, once again, went through everything and got us a good rate for our 2022 Gmc Sierra 4x4 truck. She tried her best to get as close as she could to our original quote.
Alaina is very personable and she actually cares. Plus, her honesty shines through. And my insurance broker through State Farm was dishonest and i wanted away from him ASAP! And in Alaina at Stephen Wildes Allstate office in Bangor, Maine, i found honest decent insurance agents, providing a good product. That is so valuable these days.
