Supervisors, managers, and the Postmaster at this location, allow the facility to be run by CCA's. Supervisors pull CCA's from zones that need them and put the CCA's in zones that do not. A lot of times engaging in favoritism and causing hardships on other zones, such as Bladensburg, which has hardly no workers to cover their routes, where it causes the current route holders of that zone to be overloaded with work, regardless of if they are on the overtime list or not. If you are on the overtime list, you can count on an overabundance of work, that has not been equally shared with other people on the list. Leaving one person to take on the load of the whole zone. Brentwood, as well as Mount Rainier also have issues with people not doing their jobs to capacity or Calvert not filling the routes. They hire often, but for some reason CCA's are never distributed equally to each zone to cover routes. The supervisors, particularly, play these types of games, and don't care if there is a ton of work on one person, but will then try to write them up because they are coming back late. They expect people with bumps to come back at unrealistic times and try to write them up because they are late coming back from delivering a ton of mail. there is no fairness in this place or consideration when it comes to extra work and people who work hard trying to deliver all of the mail. It does not make sense to write up the hard-working postal workers who do deliver, regardless of how long it takes them. Other zones experience the same problems, and the culture there is horrible, as they expect newcomers to fail at delivering mail when they really should be encouraging these people to do well so that the location will not have such a high turnover rate. The new Postmaster at Calvert, who's name starts with an "M", has done nothing but make matters worse. They are not filling positions and they are forcing custodians to do clerk and carrier's work. I used to work there, so I have seen it go from bad to worse. The new Postmaster seems to have an ego problem, riding around the docks trying to instill fear about parking nonsense and other minor and insignificant things he should not be worried about. What he should be more concerned with is getting rid of people who are no shows, don't want to work, and people who try to get out of work. He should then stop punishing and harassing the hard workers and longtime carriers he should be lucky to have still working there. Some of these people are pre-retirees, and the new Postmaster here should be more encouraging towards new hires who show promise, give them a chance, and hope that they stay for the long haul to get the many routes open filled. It has been a continuous cycle that will never end if the post office keeps recycling the supervisor and upper management positions at Calvert with incompetent mindsets, who don't know how to brainstorm and bring forth new ideas.
