The Financial Advisor Training Institute (FATI) was a great jump start to my career as a Financial Advisor. I am a career changer and the 5 months I spent enrolled at the institute were life changing. I hadn't heard of FATI before so I put it on my credit card in case it wasn't legit. I can confirm that it was well worth the money and they followed through on their promises.
Receiving all the licensing (Life, Health, SIE, 7, 66) was convenient with their educational provider. I passed all on the first attempt. However, the licensing was just a small part of the value.
I jumped into a position as a Financial Advisor with a firm that FATI connected me with. I actually signed my papers the day I passed the Series 66. In my case I could have taken a salary but was so confident in what I had learned that it was easy to choose the 1099 path and partner with the firm instead of becoming an employee.
The reason I was confident is FATI put me at the experience level of a two year Advisor. They made that claim but I was skeptical until starting out on my own and meeting other new Advisors.
FATI covers the practical knowledge that is more important than the book smarts. The prospecting and client interactions they review and breakdown are invaluable. The market assessments are a great low-pressure way to gain experience hearing people's financial concerns. Plus they resulted in some easy conversions to clients down the road. (Just one good client can pay for the enrollment fee in a year - yes, that is not a typo - you will be an authority and confident to assist high net worth clients with comprehensive financial planning. This isn't about selling a quick product and collecting a commission. It is about people paying you to partner with them for providing extremely valuable advice. I'm proof and I started my enrollment with very little prospecting skills.)
Finally, the one-on-one weekly sessions with their experienced professionals was the best piece. Receiving coaching through your weaknesses, reviewing multiple job offers, bouncing ideas off them as you prepare to launch your career. It all helps you lift off as soon as you start your career.
The Financial Advisor Training Institute was money very well spent. I recommend signing up for their webinar and also an initial meeting with Terry.
PS: I am loving my career as a Financial Advisor. It is NOT easy but very fulfilling in the way a corporate career couldn't be.
