La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Jackson/Cape Girardeau

I travel over 150 days a year for my job and stay exclusively in Wyndham properties, so I review each one. The parking lot was clean and well lit on arrival. Check in went smoothly as i reserve in the Wyndham app. My room, a second floor king, was very clean, with a comfortable bed/ pillows and newer fixtures. Room access is via an interior door. The hallways and room smelled great. WiFi speed was 75.9 megs down, 25.22 up via Ookla. All of the normal amenities were in place, such as the microwave, small refrigerator and single serve coffee maker. The hotel has 2 luggage carts. My digital AC/heater worked well and has a wall control. The television had a good selection of channels but a good picture. The breakfast area and lobby were very clean. No snack and drink machines on any floor, only a small convenience area on the first floor. There is also a fitness center and business center available. Great staff and awesome rooms, I would certainly stay here if in the area in the future.

Unfortunately, my family and other families who were traveling to Cape for sports had a horrible experience! We came back from the sports complex at 9:30 PM and ready to share some team pizza, sing happy birthday to one of the players whose birthday it was and let her open up her gifts from her teammates. We were sitting in the lobby and the lights were turned off on us. We were told that the lobby closes at 10 oclock. Its a big, beautiful and very clean lobby and we thought we could sit there as a group till 11-11:30 and head to bed.We were not allowed to do that and we were told to go outside on the back patio and that was only gonna be open till 11. We did that with coats and blankets wrapped around all of us, because it was freezing but still had the cops called on us. It was absolutely ridiculous! We travel to Cape Girardeau at least four times a year and we will never ever go back there. And I will be sure to let all my sports friends know not to go there as well. We travel most of the year and we have never stayed at a hotel where the lobby closes at 10 PM. They said the reasoning was is because theres four rooms on the first floor. One of those rooms was occupied by one of the families who was part of our team. We werent gonna be crazy loud, but we were going to sit there, eat together and celebrate a players birthday. it was just ridiculous! Ive never been in a hotel where theres a curfew to be in our rooms. I put a big damper on our night. We were all frustrated -parents and kids! Some of the parents and I laughed and said no wonder the hotel was so cheap! Nobodys coming here!

Super clean, convenient, and the staff was so sweet and helpful! Will definitely stay here again when visiting relatives in town!! Rooms: My mother who is disabled has a fantastic and accessable room and the staff were so accommodating!!
