This company has been a nightmare! The worst! First time having to file for something like this. I would've preferred not to but stuff happens! Unfortunately bad things happen to good ppl. & you hope that when you get coverage that if anything ever does happen that you will be covered instead of worrying and stressing how bills will be paid, food, including medical! This is exactly why ppl get coverage when employed because you never know! To top things off my employer let me go due to my disability! I'm not able to work yet..so many barriers! (Way to kick someone while they are down! God forbid you or a family member goes though this). Unbelievable! So ridiculous! Karma is very real though! Anyway, Sunlife has a rude rep that I spoke with when I called once other than that no one has called & if they did no VM was left. I was constantly sending emails and they were being ignored then I mentioned something about it and then it appears they created an auto response which was the only thing being sent from that point on. Instead of making this a smooth process they have added more stress on top of what I'm going through. They appear to be very unorganized. They had sent me a letter requesting a physician statement which was submitted. Then they want to deny my claim saying that they never received the requested statement. Exhausting! I should be focusing on healing, instead stressing more and exacerbating my condition! I wish I didn't have to be going through this but I am and it appears no one has been trying to make things right and give me what rightfully belongs to me. Bullying, scamming, thieving, lying; you name it, that's their Co motto or so it appears! Their corporate office is somewhere in Canada, then they have these other small branches. Do your research before purchasing from them. Hope this helps someone.

Their insurance is pretty bad, thier customer service is really bad, and they practice uninclusive (woke) practices.

It's awful place to work or get any plan. I have experienced both sides of it. As my wife used to work for this place I had a major surgery. Even know they said two weeks in advance she gave more to get off to be there during my surgery. They told her no that they could give her another date off a month after the one day she asked off for. They gave her the same excuse every time. We expect a heavy call load that week. No matter what it pertained to. They also have dental plans and others. They refused to pay for. Said they would reimburse myself. After doing the procedure. Never did. I suggest anyone looking for a job stay clear also anyone looking for plans. There are definitely way better ones out there. They care about nothing except there quarterly earnings. Also there stock. Stay clear of them. Would never suggest orr recommend for anyone.
